I visited Nürburgring last august and shot a few pictures: Nürburgring "Viper-taxi" http://img504.imageshack.us/img504/5421/dscn07852lm.jpg BMW M5 Ring-Taxi (taxing out) http://img524.imageshack.us/img524/8064/dscn08070dz.jpg Big, small - everybody can have fun at the ring: http://img516.imageshack.us/img516/549/dscn08008qc.jpg You can even spot "moviestars" http://img504.imageshack.us/img504/8627/gr7sq.jpg
How hard is it to run the ring, Its a b**** on GT4 but thats a game, how many of you have actually gone a few laps
I've done about 50 laps on my GSXR1000 in 2003 and 2004. Also 2 laps with my former Audi TT quattro... Believe me... it's a huge thrill ! ;-) But very dangerous. There are a lot of locals with old 911's with 335/35 at the rear and you want to follow them when they fly by. Soon I will go again and hold a ferrarichat.com shirt against the webcam ;-) Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I did my first real lap last summer, after practicing plenty on GT4. I must say that all that practice was pretty good - I knew my way around the track pretty good. The thing is that when playing GT4, you can just restart if you crash - not possible IRL and that really made me take it easy. The track in itself is one of the most difficult in the world - it long, there are lot of hills, there are lots of turns and there can be a lot of traffic. When I was there, they scraped the remains of a bike of the guardrail (only thing damaged on the rider was his ego) in a corner, there were busses on the track (obviously, very slow) and there was traffic.. I will easily visit Nürburgring again - it's the wildest roller coaster in the world that anybody can enjoy.
