Any ways out of a Navy contract?

As an employer I would never hire her.

In the world of American employers the rule tends to be, honorable or nothing.

Yup. Those with the sense to ask the question only accept an honorable discharge.

As others have said, if she's serious about him and vice-versa, her being in the military is not an obstacle. And if it is, then they weren't really serious.

This could be a problem down the road but can easily be attributed to young and foolish. Have her pop a pi$$ test or a minor consumption violation will most certainly relieve her of her obligation. This happened to a neighbor kid going into the Marines and they didn't want him after that. Having said this I'm not sure which is worse dissapointing the USN or a proud Asian family. It's a tough call, wish her luck and support her choice. My personal opinion however is if she does not honor her commitment to the USN she will probably have problems with other commitments in the future ie: marrige, family,business. It all starts here.

 

I bet she gets out of going to the Navy, and then he dumps her for someone else before November. She sounds young and dumb. If she was smart, she would know that if he really loved her, he would stick it out with her. If he won't, then he's just in it for the booty calls.

 

Break a leg, twice. Thats what my friend did (not deliberately) in the Marines crucible and they discharged him.
