hummmmmmm i likes in yellow...
i can't believe you buy a $250,000+ supermachine and it comes on those wimpy, undertired wheels. i would think at that price, the optional and beefier Challenge rims would be standard.
@loan1at: what's under the car cover in the 2nd pic? It looks good in black: http://www.exoticcarsite.com/pictures/Cars/ferrari/599-gtb/ferrari-599gtb-12.jpg And my favourite press pic: http://www.exoticcarsite.com/pictures/Cars/ferrari/599-gtb/ferrari-599gtb-26.jpg
Yes you are right! That's not a cover! It's a painted wind-tunnel-model in 1:1 scale from the 612 scaglietti in front of the galleria ferrari in maranello!
short film from dutch site Autovisie.nl http://www.autovisie.nl/redactioneel/fotos/fotohoek/ferrari599gtbfiorano/
Yes, way too short. The same magazine is featuring a driving impression with the 599 in their coming issue.
My boss went over to Italy for the unveiling of the 599 and came back just absolutely awestruck. In Australia there are already 19 forward orders on the 599, 8 from Sydney alone. Ferrari is really keen to push the image of the 12 as the V8 demand outweigh the supply.
what size of tires does the Fiorano have? They look wider than the 295 rears that the maranello had...
Any news on official prices yet? I have heard that the 599 will be £172k GBP base price. If you add £11k for ceramics that makes £184k. Add the other usual extras and you have close to the £200k mark.
I'm going to agree. I am very much warming up to the body style, but those FUGLY star wheels are going to have to go!! Unless those are not the final ones. The challenge style rims in a few of those pics looked much better.
enjoy!! beautiful car and it makes a great sound! also the tires are BIG! http://img362.imageshack.us/img362/320/gtb5999jw.jpg http://img362.imageshack.us/img362/7809/gtb59gp.jpg http://img362.imageshack.us/img362/8615/gtb42nd.jpg http://img362.imageshack.us/img362/2549/gtb31kb.jpg http://img362.imageshack.us/img362/3364/gtb20bx.jpg http://img362.imageshack.us/img362/6091/599gtbb1vj.jpg http://img362.imageshack.us/img362/1466/gtb1dn.jpg http://img362.imageshack.us/img362/3238/599gtb10sw.jpg http://img362.imageshack.us/img362/227/599gtb1jp.jpg http://img362.imageshack.us/img362/4815/rem5990ue.jpg
I had the opportunity to test drive the car last Friday on public roads around Spa-Francorchamps and must say that I am even more impressed now. the car just looks beautiful in real life. Ferrar had brought 3 cars for test driving, two in red/black and one in black/cuio. I drove the black one as this is alos the color combo I want. The only Ferrari I have driven myself before is the 612 and when a climbed behind the wheel I got the feeling the car was wider then a 612. When driving I was amazed on the smoothness of the gearchanges, and then .... the accelleration was tremendous, I was at 290kmh without in a blink and feeling as if I was driving only 140kmh. But also driving 40kmh in 6th gear and acellerating from that speed was effortless. I have only one negative remark, the sound from the exhaust I found dissapointing, this car needs to have a more aggressive sound repetoire. As other testdrivers were complaining about it as well I suppose and hope they will do something about it. Other than that, a great car!!!!!
Having seen the car for the first time in real life, also at Spa, I have to adjust my opinion. It is not that ugly as I thought it was on pictures. It does looks better in real life but I still don't like it. The back looks to strange to me, the front looks too much 'wannabe' impressive. Side view is ok, but no more then that. I admit that it must be a real beast to drive, but with 612 bhp, what do you want? No 599 GTB for me. Probably a personal thing... I came from 'hate' to 'not like'
