Nurburgring live web cam

I plan on taking the same approach: Lots of practice on GT4 to memorize the track, then take it easy IRL.

My concern are more other drivers coming from behind at 200 mph collecting me while taking it easy. Obviously it can't be as bad if they have buses on the track, nobody can really just fly blindly around a corner. Comments?

 

O man if you do that you have to let me know I dont want to miss that

 

The scary part is the slower traffic. The ones coming up from behind are a lot less scary - just keep lots of attention on your mirrors and when they are catching up to you, keep right and use your turn signal so that they know that you've seen them.
With the slower traffic, if the don't keep right and use their turn signals, it's impossible to know it they are aware of you or not. A good tip is to hang around the entrance to the track for a while and inform yourself that no busses or other kinds of really slow things are out there.
Oh, and *some* bikers are really scary - they think it's more important to use the fastes line through curves than to give you any room for error. One bike passed me with less than 50 cm between me and him while I had my right wheel almost on the curb.

Thanks for that. You actually encouraged me. I'm sure I'll always be able to stop for a bus and if a bike passes me at that distance, well that's his body on the line, not mine.

ah! you're right, what was I thinking.....

 

Did you see that TopGear episode with the van doing a lap? They got this local woman, who know her way around the ring, to drive a lap in a delivery van. While doing this she not only drove faster than tourists in their cars - she passed bikes as well. She's my nürburgringhero.

 

cant say that I have but I saw the one with tiff and he was beaten by a girl

 

I forgot her name, but she is one of the ring taxi drivers. Darn cute as well!

I was taking a lap on my GSXR1000 and she passed me in the corner with the (fully loaded) M5-taxi drifting with 4 wheels with one hand on the steeringwheel !
With the other hand she made a move like "sorry..." .
