I've always wondered what would happen if you simply got far enough ahead to pull over and get out of the car with your trusted passenger before the cops could see you. Then both refuse to admit who was driving the car. A husband and wife team would be best.

I was thinking the same thing....

San Antonio, I thought most of the choppers there were for reporting fires, LOL

I spent 7 weeks there at a business near Babcock and Wurzbach, if memory serves me... I have ZERO desire to ever drive on the 410 there, those folks are just plain crazy.

I think they would just lock you up until one of you admitted to driving, unless you (possibly) found a slick lawyer that could argue the laws of incriminating a spouse or something 'legal' like that, not being able to be forced to 'testify' against a spouse, etc.

There are states that haul you in if you are going 20+ over the limit, they book you, you post bail, and then get back to driving.

What the hell kind of country do you think we live in?

CHP Hielo, ~90 KIAS tops. (about 105mph)

    CHP hard-top with lights- 125mph

CHP slick-top, interior lights only- 127 to 131mph

    CHP Camaro- 150 approx.

All you need to do is get there faster than the cops do. It's not difficult, most of them are ****ty drivers, the rest get calls from dispatch telling them to discontinue an irresponsible chase.

The "as delivered" CVPIs will go about 130, and not much more. That is assuming the department has the sense to order them with 3.27 gears, and not the slower 3.55s.

Other cruiser manufacturers are rumored to have faster cars, but none can go as fast for as long as the CVPI. And it cannot keep up with the highly engineered Euro cars.

The radio on the other hand, will outrun any car, or even plane.

I've been told that they're NOT faster, the engines just have heavy duty radiators, so they can pursue you for a long time and you will eventually overheat whereas they won't. And they also have the radio and their friends have that too and they won't overheat either!!!!

The TR vs. Crown Vic thing is a joke. At no point would it even be close. Non-car people don't tend to think about powerbands, gearing, etc... That's just a dumbass cop talking story, that's all.

I've been in cars on 2 occasions where we passed parked cop cars while deep in the triple digits without any ramifications, but I still think running is a BAD idea here in FL. I know 2 people who got caught, and I won't be running. Besides, we have a LOT of unmarked cars here, and they're WIERD ones! Examples: Caddy STS, Caravans, pickup trucks, a Durango, hopped up Mercury Marauders and about 4 GT Mustangs. They're all completely unmarked, some have tints, some don't.

That video of the Vette has been on my mind lately since my best buddy just smashed up his Vette, getting tossed out in the process. He's lucky in ways you can't imagine: not a broken bone, no hospital time... He's by no means a slender guy, the door never opened and he went out the window (it's a hardtop C4 - ingress and egress = PITA).

Radio. Yes radio is faster than anything on wheels or wings, but if there is no one on the other side of the radio transmission that is in the right location to help, than the radio does nothing.

I grew up in small town, helicopters were not even a realistic threat, and with the lack of cops around radio wasn't a big threat either.

i did some work for the highway patrol here and became pretty good freinds with a staff sargent in the patrol. at the time i had a moderatly modded bullitt edition mustang. he asked me a million times how fast the car was while i was working on the project with them. one day when we were leaving the patrol office he told told me to hit it as hard as i could until he flashed his lights at me. he was in slicktop "police inerceptor edition" crown vic and it was not even remotly close. not on take off or on top end and i think the fastest slip i had on that car back then was in the low 13's after that he never asked about the car again but smiled ever time i was out in it. i dont think that model car is much of a match for any modern "sports" car, but i wouldnt want to run from one in a 308 :)
