Saw pictures of a 328 on E-Bay with entire interior custom upholstered with Connley leather to match the tan hide of the seats, central bolster, and trim. Basically, this included the underside of the roof, the firewall behind the seats, and the rear shelf below rear window. It looked great. Much better than the stock grey cloth upholstery, which actually looks somewhat cheap in the car. Unfortunately, I didn't save the pictures to show. But basically, it made the entire interior look "right".

4 inch diameter aircraft ducting. Wire core for constant diameter when bent, fiberglass impregnated, heat resistant to 500 degrees. Not concourse look.

    - You have to destroy the original hose to get the end caps off and use them on the new hose. No going back.

    - Old hose is held on by friction, just wiggle/wrestle it off the airbox and the lower side intake scoop.

    - New hose wants to maintain a straight shape. Take the old end caps off and clean them of foam and adhesive.

    - Slide the new hose into the end cap and seat it in the inner lip of the smaller diameter end.

    - With one end on, slide it onto the lower side intake scoop. You have to do this blind, but can help pull it into place by reaching in from the side of the car through the scoop. The new hose will want to stand straight up. Be careful not to scrape it on metal bolts and lines. It tears easily.

    - Now place the other end cap on, and wrestle it on to the air box. The hose will keep a constant diameter and really fill the space. May take some twisting and moving to get it to clear other parts.

    - New hose doesn’t look like factory (it might if it was black).

    - But it is a more efficient smooth path for the intake air, with no restrictions or pieces of loose foam.

    - Slight intake whine at speed with the top off from the passenger side.

    - Hose is from Aircraft Spruce company. Cost is about $15 per foot, so buy some extra since you may tear it on the first try.

OK, we haven't talked about your leather yet.

If your leather is tired and worn looking you don't have to live with it. And you don't have to get someone else to fix it for you either. Leatherique was a sponsor on this site. They and others sell the stuff to redo your leather to factory beauty, and the best part is that you can do it in about a week or two....cheap!

Here are some important threads you will want to read.

Don't waste your time trying to redye your leather on your own. Its extremely dificult. I followed the directions to the t and even used an airbrush and it came out looking not so good and I think I am not too shabby with an airbrush. I just asked my local Ferrari dealer and the guy they recommended came over and did a professional job in a few hours for a few hundred. I do recommend the leatherique to maintain and clean your leather though, its awesome stuff.

I'm sorry you didn't have success, I did as did many others. Mine is now 3 years old and looks practically as good as the day I did it. But if I had the choice, it would have been nice to take your route. Sounds much easier. I'd be very curious which system they used.

I have bought my first Ferrari, and like my other weekend classics, I would like to meet others with the same interest. Is there a Ferrari group in north eastern Florida?

Has anyone ever changed one of the AC vents on the top of the dash?

The round ones will just pop in and out. To get to the screws holding in the obong ones, you have to remove the dash.

If you just bought a 308, get a fire extinguisher and keep it in your car at all times. A fire extinguisher is the cheapest insurance policy you can buy for a 308!

This is my first post, although I have had my 1982 Ferrari 308 GTB for five years now.

I have seen some disparaging comments about the 81-82 308 GTB/GTS i - series cars, which were slower than their carbureted predecessors or the quattrovalvole models that came after.

I believe that I have largely solved this problem by installing HYPER-FLOW catalytic converters and a K&N air filter.

The installation (and MANDATORY tuning) was done by Dave Helms of Scuderia Rampante in Boulder, whom I recommend very highly.

That's pretty cool, I've never seen that before, thanks!

What do you think it does to the look in real life?

It looks great. I bought a 308 gts to go with my 348 spider on 10/30/06. I
blacked out the grill, drilled the bumper shocks (front & back) & pushed them in to get the Euro look & painted the prancing horse on the back, this past weekend.

i just figured the a/c was the problem

the other time was at very low speed it seemed like the car was losing power
    no problem since
