Can anyone give me info on a 1978 308GTS fuel pump? The car's been sitting all winted & when I got to start it, the pump just clicks slow & it won't start.

    Thanks,

    Bob

    Hi Bob,

"Step 1" is to check your battery voltage. (Use a digital multimeter on the terminals of the battery.) I had a fuel pump in a 78 308 that did not pump when the battery voltage dropped below, say, 10.5V. It made a noise, but it did not pump in this case.

Also, welcome to the board! There is a wealth of information here. And when you get a chance, fill out your profile!

Response back when you have a little more info about the battery voltage.

BTW, the pump on your 308 is probably either the original "Corona" pump or it could be a Facet pump--has it ever been replaced?

On my parts cleaner there is a fuel pump. When it has been sitting for a long time it can get clogged-up. I have had luck squirting cleaning fluid in the outlet tube & clearing-it by reversing the polarity and running the pump backwards.
