During removal of my right axle shaft I managed to really mangle one CV joint flange. I tried all the local auto parts stores and nobody had it.

Second pic is a part from Pelican listed as:

"CV Boot w/ flange, 911 (mid 1975-84) non turbo only"

Will this fit? If not, who else has this part? Thanks.

BMW uses the same boots and flanges on similiar vintage model cars.

One of mine ended up looking like yours, but I just put a small can with a just smaller diameter in it and tapped the flange back into shape with a small tack hammer. That metal is very soft and easily worked back into shape.

Thanks for the feedback guys! I'll drop by the local BMW and Porsche parts counter today and see what I can find.

The way to avoid this from happening in future is to support the outer end of the shaft before releasing the outer end from the hub carrier. Clearly some prior worker has done this to yours a few times :)

Actually, I had such a tough time getting the axle separated from the gearbox, I did this damage myself. I'll know better next time!

I found replacement flanges at the Porsche dealer. A '77 911 part # 911-332-295-02 for $20 each with boot.

I received this part today from Porsche. It is the WRONG part for the Ferrari application. I'll just have to pound out the damaged flange and re-use it since I have not been able to locate a replacement anywhere.

If you have access to a lathe; just make a cone that roughly fit the size, pressed it into the flange with a vise...perfectly round again.
