I really would like to change over from my Sidekick II, to a Treo 700. The problem is that my service contract with T-Mobile is not up yet, so I would have to pay the cancellation fee as well as buy the new phone. Is there a way to get an unlocked phone, or would it be better to switch to Verizon to get the Treo? Is it that good of a phone/pda that it is worth the $500, and the cancellation fee? Is the Blackberry 8700 from T-Mobile comparable?

    Any help would be great.

Verizon has a few month exclusive on the Treo700. The GSM version will be coming out soon for Cingular, T-Mobile, etc...

    The 8700G is for T-Mobile.

I also had a Sidekick 2 a while ago. After a while, it got VERY boring and it seemed a little cheep all along. I just had to switch, so I got a RAZR, but now I'm looking to switch again after my contract runs out to Cingular and get the SLVR or something.

    Good luck

    Anyone?

Treo 650 for palm OS (older) or 700W for windows version or you can wait a bit for the newer palm version to come out
