the pads need changing but rest need a good look at. it's just a hassle to go all the way to HS and they always take 2 days for the smallest jobs

If its just the pads... i think HS can do it in a day.

If you do it outside, workshop may have to buy the parts from HS anyway (at a 30% premium).

My view, just do it at Hong Seh.

Sam & buddy fixed my hazard light in a few hours :) yesterday. They're all fully booked this week, go after next Tuesday. Saw many cars yesterday as I stopped by Eurosport, Long & HS. The MC12 is in the showroom again.

Derek, are your calipers made by Brembo? You can "upgrade" the pads, look for porterfield etc with the sponsors here. Shouldn't take more than 4days to reach you via FedEx & any workshop can fix it. I'm having a hard time as my fronts are 6pot TarOx calipers & the discs might need to be "balanced".

No they are the stock standard brakes. Not being technically minded I haven't made any changes since buying it, although I am intrigued about putting Tubi exhaust on it as they seem all the rage. It might actually turn me into a boy racer!

Oh ok you might want to know that Brembo is the OEM supplier to Ferrari, Porsche & many others. They just paint & put a different name onto it. Ferrari like all other carmakers don't & cannot build everything themselves, parts are supplied from specialists like Bosch, VDO etc. All you need is take a look @ some of the parts, get the numbers which are always printed & suppliers will get you the same part for a lot lesser. This can be from wheel nuts to ECUs & even pistons. To save time searching for parts=$, just go to agent, leave the car with them & collect it in a few days time with a peaceful mind.

No no Tarox 6pot but the "race" pads are noisey when stopping slow speed, I got to cover my face with paperbag everytime I approach a bustop, it sounds like a higher pitch of finger nail scratching the blackboard *Ouch*.

Did you upgrade yours to tarox too? Saw a SG TR with M rims on their website, must be your ex :)

Official hotel is Oriental, same as the F1 weekend. Think it's RM450/night if not there's many other good hotels there. Don't think it'll be that full anyway.

Actually, I think its very expensive. I use to get the club floor rooms for RM350 (breakfast, parking and internet included) and regular deluxe rooms for RM275.
Prices must have gone up this year.

I'm considering an upgrade thus might have a 4200 to go for the right price.

Nope, don't wild guess, that's the hotel's rate. F1 weekend was double that & fully booked.
