very nice mercedesamg...but it looks similar to the 360...which may be a bad thing...

try to diffrientiate the dino a little bit more because i see alot of the 360/dino/honda civic si front lights. I'm not putting you down, i admire your design. its just my take on it.

but great looking vehicle nontheless....keep it coming!

Maybe we need a blueprint of a potential chassis design. over to base more realistic sketches.

We need a wheelbase layout, can we use the the Lotus Exige/Elise dimensions ? it will make it easier for everyone to sketch on real parameters, and work on more realistic renderings.

I think that the wheels on all my sketches look like 23/24 inches in dimension !!!, maybe 17 or max 18in. should be considered.

Michiel let us know if the Elise dimensions can be considered as a design parameter.

In more ways than one - that is exactly the market segment the Dino should target - and a difficult one at that.

Using a horizontal radiator in front will help with front end crashworthiness and aerodynamics but leaves less room for luggage. It will also allow you to lower the nose if you wish.

Here's another sketch idea for you, tried to keep it curvy, clean and not to aggressive as you've mentioned. I like the 599's flying buttresses and thought something similar might look good on a mid engined car. Also the mid-line accents would be chrome to add to the classic feel. Some ideas anyway - good luck!

I like it, I think if it was just a tad more angular it would be perfect.

 

I'm sure I've come across Rakesh's name somewhere before, but not sure where - I also read Evo, so that maybe it.

SingleServingJack - I really, really like the way your design looks, would love to see it developed further - maybe with some of the curves over the wheels lowered/elongated slightly.

Also, on another thought about the Cayman S being the main rival, I've just read Autocar's review of the BMW Z4M Coupe and I feel from what was said that it should also be considered a formidable rival to a new Dino. They said it is less composed overall than the Cayman, but has a rawer edge - maybe something a Ferrari should have, although I believe the original Dino was closer in character to the Cayman than the BMW - more focussed on handling perfection than aggression. Food for thought anyway. Also mentioned was that BMW only intend to sell 200 Z4M Coupes per year in the UK (not sure about international figures).

EDIT: Actually looking at it again Jack, I think what I was getting at would be served better by raising the line of the curve in the middle of the door slightly - this would have the effect of elongating the 'bow wave' curve you've used to make the line of the car more fluid and less like 3 separate sections (front fender, door, rear fender). Sorry if I sound like I'm ripping your work to pieces (that's not my intention - I think your design is amazing), it's just hard to express my thoughts clearly and concisely using written English!

very nice.

I like the front in particular; more like the 206SP than the production car and thankfully not overly long.

Is the break between the upper main body and the lower(disecting the side scoop) a hard line as in your shape 8 ? that's something the 206/246 had that I think helped make it look lower.

also in your sketch the reverse butress was more pronounced, which I prefer. Is it possible to make the central form a bit lower? As it is, the greenhouse doesn't seem as well located as on the original (perched not anchoured) and the glass area seems about 5% less than ideal.

lastly, as I mentioned before and this is highly personal, I really liked the longish rear overhang of the 206/246. I gave it a unique look and a very decent sized boot.

finally, the BMW 3 shooting brake on your webpage is terrific; the first BMW I've seen in years that I'd consider---fabulous--cheers-rick
