I wasn't aware cops had been appointed enforcer, judge, jury, and executioner.

Parikh -- You admit there was speeding; what are you, therefore, fighting that was NOT, as you say, "a crime" ??? What were you "wrongly accused" of ?
"...Most of us are not children..."? What responsible adults drive a pack of cars, at those high speeds, on the roads were MY children are ?

Caio Bello -- "...I started this thread and I don't remember asking for any opinions..." Duh; earth to Caio Bello. This is a public chat forum, no ??

Vang -- Nobody said the police were judge, jury, and executioner. BUT, they are enforcer !! Or, is that not O.K. with you ?

Never said it wasnt a crime. I wasnt there, I wasnt wrongly accused of anything.

There is a difference between between driving recklessly and driving controlled. I have driven with John and he is a good driver. I would trust his driving at those speeds. BTW, I am a professional driver and an instructor at HPDE and Teen survival schools, so dont tell me about uncontrolled driving. But I guess its ok, cause you probably have never ever driven above the speed limits. In anycase, I have better things to do with my time than to argue with you. To each his own, and I respect your right to have your opinion, I just dont agree with it...at all.

P.S. He was wrongly accused of a crime, he wasnt doing 105 in a 65 (I believe him). I think what you are trying to argue was the crime of speeding. Different things.

All well and good, but (tip of the day:)) Don't let your superiors at the local Street Survival program know that you condone reckless driving. ;)

Never said I did. Its not like I cheer on the ricer 18 year old in the pimped out honda going 100 mph. Just because the govt says its safe to go 55 doesnt mean it is for everyone.

This takes the cake, dude. You probably talk on your cell phone while you drive, right? That law's not for your either (how dare they tell you not to use your cell !!); right ? How 'bout red lights ?? You'll think about it, maybe? I think you should say no more tonight. You can't be serious.

lol...u guys are crackin me up...
take a spin, have some fun. Red lights are a no no. The only things that are ok in my books are making an 'illegal' u-turn...if you know how to do it...and driving at "ok" speeds with exotics early morning when there's virtually NO traffic. recklessnsess is BS, as we know.
I mean ferraris will break down if you don't take them all out once in a while right???????

With regards to breaking laws- Jaywalking....crossing the steet when there's a "don't walk" sign flashing is illegal. I have def. seen some people wait when there is obviously no traffic on the way (mostly tourists)...this makes no sense to me, logistically. For a kid, to build up some principle and experience since he may have no experience at it, he should not be crossing that street...for others who know enough to cross that street with enough caution, it's isn't a big deal. Obviously...slippery slope potential is a complication when applied to other situations.

At those speeds it is tough to get off or a reduction with a group of cars, but these typicaly help me when it's just me.....

Bruce, I was one of the cars out with John who got the tickets (we all got 105 in a 65, same cop, same time). I think the town was Warren and the county was Sommerset. At least I think that's what my ticket says. I don't know you, but obviously thanks in advance if there's anything you can do for John or any of us out that day...
