Does anyone know the difference between the Marell S-159B with the red label and the Marelli S-159 B with the silver label. I have a 75 gt4 with half of the advance pins removed. I have a line on a set of rebuilt S-159B units and want to know what is the difference. My car (75) came with the red label.

I also have a early set of S-159 A that did not have the spline drive but the dog drive. I am not sure what I am going to do with them. Does any GT4 owner have a Euro early car with the dog drive set-up, in the 76 parts book it shows they had two units fitted, not sure if any were US models???

    Thanks,

    Rob

I have a set of each. 21181 built march 77 has reds, 21645 built may 77 has silvers. As they both use the same bearings, points, caps, and rotors, and the advance curves are obviously identical as there is no change over the years in the service manual, I can only assume they interchange. Hope this helps.

    Hi Rob
My car is Euro, has 2 dog drive distributors. Engine is matching # with chassis. I will ask my mechaninc if a car close to mine has dog or spline. (US model 11994, mine is 11966).
I will be replacing with a single spline drive this coming winter.
