unless it was a pre war Silver Arrow GP car, i dont think it could have been a benz, the M100 6.3 had an autobox. the 300SL Gullwing does not accelerate like that,

it can only be an Italian Stallion...no bull...

supposedly a Merc 450 SEL 6.9L, Lelouch owned one.

 

Do a search on here or google and you'll find pics of the Merc in question with the bumper mounted camera with the Director/Driver

The car is a W116 6.9 Saloon - these car can be found quite cheaply today. It takes two people to lift the crankshaft.

Despite fans speculation about Ferrari models for many years, the film shows an 8-minute drive through Paris in the morning hours, accompanied by sounds of a high-revving engine and squealing tyres that were later dubbed over. It starts in a tunnel of the Paris Périphérique, with an onboard view from a car exiting up on a ramp to Avenue Foch. The driver frightens unwitting pedestrians, scatters birds, runs stoplights at high speed, goes the wrong way down one-way streets, and crosses center lines. The car is never seen, as the camera was attached at the front bumper. "

Ya was Dietrich. I show you pikture here, you see Dietrich hidding in bushes? I wait there forr long time until polize gone. My head really hurted from this but I get back at Steffan by punch him in face after car come to stop. Now I feel betterr but can't see perfect yet. Maybie better in few weeeks.

The Mercedes angle is a new one to me. The last "other car" theory I saw is that it was a Matra prototype being driven by either Jacques Lafitte or Johnny Servoz-Gavin (who just passed away, btw).

The thing is it's not that fast when you turn the sound off (which is also just dubbed over sound effect - note the repetitive screeching sounds that are exactly the same... they use 2-3 sounds over and over).

If you want REAL insanity, check out the Ghostrider bike vids and the Getaway in Stockholm series. Those make this look like a Sunday cruise for ice cream.

 

ive seen that video. At first its really awesome cuz u think putting a 275 GTB trough its paces through a quiet city is an awesome idea, and it is. Long video, I was entertained for a while but eventually I just wanted more speed...and I have to say that I found out tire screachin gon the good ol' 275 was a terrible problem. However I never got tired of the screaming V12...3.3liters I think

Just keeping my 275 gtb dreams alive, he could have used the Merc for a test run then done the final filming in the Ferrari, well heres hoping/dreaming anyway ;-)
