I also would recomend Cavallino motors. Them and Sport Auto in NC and Ferrari of Atlanta. All top notch!!
if you try to get a little more $$$ you can get yourself into a 355 http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.jsp?car_id=201965318&dealer_id=626163&car_year=1996&mod_bookmark_id=null&search_type=both&make=FER&model=F355&distance=0&address=06451&advanced=&certified=&bkms=1149024485106&max_price=&min_price=&first_record=51&end_year=2007&start_year=1981&isp=y&pager.offset=50&lang=en&cardist=73
To be honest with you, i think the 355 looks like an MR2 Not from the back, but kinda from the front, and for sure from the side.
You wouldn't say that if you had seen them together You were kidding right ??? Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
not a perfect comparison, but a few weeks ago i drove a 430 and a Z06 back to back. no comparison. on twisties at 100 mph the Z06 felt like a Buick and i could have mixed a martini in the ferrari, it's that easy to drive fast. My dad drove the same car and said "it feels like all the other vettes I've driven over the years". not a compliment. these are two very different cars-the vette and the 8 cylinder Ferrari. of course, i would recommend the ferrari. but you already knew that.
I made this exact decision a few months ago. I bought the 94 Spider. Decision was based on not being able to stomach the massive Vette depreciation and the fact that I see them all over Houston. If you buy the Vette you are getting one heck of a car though...just a superb improvement on the car. Saw a silver one this weekend. I promised the owner I'd bring my Spider to the track next weekend so he could see it. Buy the Spider
348 in my opinion. It will never give you the raw performance of the C6 but the driving experience will be so much more enjoyable. Recommendation for seller: John Slimen Ferrari of Central Florida 407-667-4300
Okay here is what you are gonna do. Buy the 348. Now I'll tell you why. The 348's have just about hit the bottom of their depreciation. A brand new Vette is gonna take a huge hit in depreciation over the next few years. Another reason you're gonna buy the 348 is because you really want it. I bet you dont sit around day dreaming about driving around in a Vette do you? No you don't. You probable sit around dreaming of how fun it is gonna be driving around in your Ferrari. Say it with me, my Ferrari. Again, My Ferrari, MY..... FERRAAAARI! Doesn't that just roll off the tounge nicely. It sure does. You don't get the same feeling when you say "My Vette", do you, no you sure don't. If you've been dreaming about owning a Ferrari then buy one. Besides if you want to sell the Ferrari sometime down the road you'll be able to get pretty close to what you paid for it, especially since you want a spider. But with the Vette you'll never be able to sell it for anywere close to what you paid for it brand new. Now in defence of the Vette. Chevy did an outstanding job with the C6, especially the Z06. The Z06 is an awesome machine, and pound for pound, dollar for dollar, you CANNOT beat the performace for the price. If you wanted a track car, then I would have been telling you to buy the Z06. But you don't want a track car. Now before you buy the 348 I am going to tell you something. Obtaining a Ferrari is NOT the hard part. The hard part is MAINTAINING a Ferrari. Even if you get a 348 at a decent price you are still gonna have to pay up the yin yang for parts, and especially service. So just be prepared for some wallet shock when it comes time to have it worked on, even if you do the work yourself. Before you buy the 348 MAKE SURE you get a complete Pre Purchase Inspection. If you don't get a good PPI, walk away and keep looking. Make sure you have ALL documentation of service. If they cannot provide documentation, then condsider it never having been done, no matter how convincing then may sound. Good luck in your search for the 348.
Not all that surprising. The MR2 was designed by Lotus, making it the Esprit's little (half) brother. And the mid-90s Esprits and 355 have a few similarities, too. It's nothing new that designers copy styling cues from each other. Heck, look how many different cars copied from the 250GTO. To buy a ferrari or not is not about decision so no one can help you with that. If you start thinking with your mind buy the corvette, if you trully desire the ferrari buy it, don't think about that, just do it........
I would tend to disagree with this statement. Although I am new to the Ferrari world, I have found all Ferrari owners to be friendly and encouraging, despite my driving a 20yr old TR ...
I know any response you get from this site will be bias but....C'MON.....CHEVY vs. FERRARI?....this is the ultimate no brainer! No offense to corvettes (a nice car in thier own right, some models of which I really like) but....you're talking about a wannabe vs. the real thing. OK OK all you vette fans flame away.
