What a great turn out we had today…
Glad to see many familiar faces and some new ones as well.
Was too busy talking and did not get to take many pictures.
I will try to attach them shortly….
I hope to get to see everyone again soon.

This was by far one of the most enjoyable meets I've ever been to, for any car group. The fact that my wife Laura commented after we left about how nice a time *she* had (and she NEVER enjoys these kinds of things) shows me that we really had a great group out there today.

    Awesome...

    Now let's keep it going!

    Aaron

My vote would be to invite more Lotus and Lambos first! You know ... exotics only ;) ?

(j/k somebody post on pelicanparts.com, and rennlist, 6speedonline, etc!)

    Thanks Nizam!

I posted on elisetalk.com. One Exige owner responded he had no idea, he lives 500 yards from Santana row and would have come;-)

I'm so glad I showed up this morning. Friendly smiles, warm conversations....very nice indeed. Nizam, great pics. I like how you photographed the Testarossas. Those Speedlines on my black TR kinda stand out don't they? Aaron, great talking to you and your pretty wife. Anytime your in my neck of the woods, let me know. Come by my shop and check out the Ford GT and the others. Next time we meet up, you can drive the TR if your interested. We only took a quick spin this morning, but you need to experience the driver's seat to fully enjoy those twelve cylinders. I'll post my pics when time permits(tonight).
    Chris.

Alex - yup, I'd like to see an Elise & Exige row facing off the Ferraris next time!

Chris, it isn't usual for Testarossas to show up, and we had THREE today. Dig up some more for the next meet.

I'm somewhat disappointed to be the only one with the F355, when I had several firm commitments from my other F355 brutha's :). I have to work harder, maybe some bribery is required?

I liked the Santana Row parking lot. It's secluded enough to have a meet, and had shade for when the ladies didn't want to get burned any further. They have coffee and pastries at the Peet's nearby and if you stayed long enough, I think Prada opens at 10am. I think we've found our spot.

Let's do Santana Row every first and third Saturday of the month.

This just may happen. I did not realize how many local elisetalk'ers were unaware of yesterday's meet and would have come had they known.
I also liked that place. There was even bench under shade close by.
Of course people are somewhat confused now which place next meet is at;-)

This clearly works for most Peninsula and South Bay folks. However, I would hesitate to say that this is a North Bay/South Bay solution. Are there enough Marin/Walnut/Livermore folks that would participate if there were some locale set further northeast and cross-bay than Palo Alto? I noticed that Greg Calo was trying to get something going up around the Walnut area and the Sac folks were talking about their area too. It could be that the total area is just too big to accomodate with one plan and the current Santana Row/Stanford Mall proposal works best, but I thought I'd throw out the thought.

Maybe Treasure Island could work for the North/SF and Eastbay folks...

    Thoughts?

Treasure Island - no coffee on weekends. Yin and I checked! Being a tourist spot also makes contiguous parking an issue.

I'm of the opinion that large-scale "Northern California" meets are going to be somewhat of an issue due to how spread out we are. For some folks, the idea of having a meeting point have
    • coffee, pastries near the meeting location
    • ample, semi-exclusive parking
    • foliage, both for shade and for scenery
    • activity/shopping for the spouse/kids nearby so they can also be involved
    • within an hour of home, preferably less
is somewhat attractive. By my reckoning, having a meet down in Santana Row or Stanford Mall would fulfill the aforementioned criteria.

Check out this map for illustration. Folks in SF, Pleasanton, San Ramon, Walnut Creek and Berkeley are within an hour of a cool morning buzz down the freeway to those meeting points :)
