I have been driving the 360 with a tubi exhaust for the past 2 weeks now and have couple of questions:

    1. After driving for a while and when I let my foot off the gas, I hear some pop pop sound. Sounds like a hole in the muffler or backfiring. It doesn't happen all the time, so it's probably not a hole in the muffler. I have read the other threads on this, and sounds like kind of a normal occurance on this car. It doesn't happen when accelerating, just when I let go on the gas.

    2. When I put the car into first gear (I have 6-speed), there is a slight whining noise and then it goes away immediately. No effects on performance, no slippage in the clutch. Bearings?

Any thoughts on these issues are appreciated as I am trying to learn about this car. TIA.

My 360 with Tubi will pop on over run some times.
I also have a slight squeel from the clutch whan taking off in first gear, not every time probably 50%.
When I asked about it on this board a couple of replies said they also had the noise and it was normal.

    You sound like me.....I just got a 360 spider with a 6-speed too. :)

Your exhaust is just doing it's thing and letting you sample the fine flavor of a performance engine gurgling...it just happens when you ease-off on the gas, I think it's just uncombusted fuel residue going-off in your aft-section of the muffler. If you think your Tubi is bad, try a stage-3 Capristo...it's like driving a fire-cracker!! ;)

The clutch thing.....it's normal. To make it go away either get a loud stereo or louder exhaust. :) :) :)

These here vehicles aren't Camry's....they make noises and do things that aren't quite "normal"....nothing to worry about, best to ask!

Thanks for the responses. I just hate unusual noises. I love the sound of the engine and the growl too much to turn up my stereo :)

How come when I come to a stop I'm not flocked by supermodels clad in skimpy bikini's????

I'm taking mine into the dealer, must be an adjustment. This better not be expensive! :)
