The entire Angels & Airwaves CD...Especially 'The War' The ocean, is on fire The sky turned dark again As the boats came in And the beaches Stretched out with soldiers With their arms and guns It has just begun Believe, you want this Believe, I want this too Why wont you tell me that It's almost over Why must this? Tear my head Inside out And the houses Laid out like targets With the deafening sound We watched them all go down And the families Now useless bodies They lay still black and blue A gift from us to you

There's No Way Out of Here by David Gilmore Kind of dark and introspective THERE'S NO WAY OUT OF HERE (K. Baker) There's no way out of here, When you come in You're in for good. There was no promise made, The part you played, The chance you took. There are no boundaries set, The time and yet You waste it still. So it slips through your hands, Like grains of sand You watch it go. There's no time to be lost, You'll pay the cost, So get it right. There's no way out of here, When you come in You're in for good. And never was there an answer, There an answer... Not without listening, Without seeing. There are no answers here, When you look out, You don't see in. There was no promise made The part you played The chance you took. There's no way out of here When you come in You're in for good. And never was there an answer. There an answer... Not without listening Without seeing. There's no way out of here When you come in You're in for good. There was no promise made The part you played The chance you took. There's no way out of here When you come in You're in for good There's no way out of here When you come in You're in for good. There are no answers here When you look out You don't see in. There's no way out of here When you come in You're in for good. Nobody makes a guitar sing like his. A master of melody and technique while at the same time keeping it simple and soulful.

For you space cadets out there, Hawkwind doing "Spirit of The Age" I would've liked you to have been deep frozen too and waiting still as fresh in your flesh for my return to Earth But your father refused to sign the forms to freeze you Let's see you'd be about 60 now, and long dead by the time I return to Earth My time held dreams were full of you, as you were when I left; still underage Your android replica is playing up again it's no joke When she comes she moans another's name But that's the spirit of the age, That's the spirit of the age... I am a clone, I am not alone Every fibre of my flesh and bone is identical to the others Everything I say is in the same tone as my test tube brother's voice There is no choice between us, If you had ever seen us, You'd rejoice in your uniqueness and consider every weakness something special of your own Being a clone, I have no flaws to identify Even this doggerel that pours from my pen, has just been written by another twenty telepathic men, word for word, it says: "Oh, for the wings of any bird, other than a battery hen". My first introduction to Hawkwind (60/70's English space rock group) was when I went to see a movie called Damnation Alley (1978?) with George Peppard and Jan Micheal Vincent, post appocalyptic travels across country in a military ATV to rescue the remaining population of earth.......... Hawkwind did the original opening score called Damnation Alley which has since been supplanted by a bland sci-fi soundtrack done in someones basement on a synthesiser with fake orchestration. . Catchy tune, I've got the serum and I'm going to take it All the way to Boston, oh I've got to get through The going won't be easy, but I'm going to make it It's the only thing that I'm cut out to do Ride the post-atomic radioactive trash The sky's on fire from the nuclear flash Diving through the burning hoop of doom, In an eight wheeled anti-radiation tomb Thank you Dr. Strangelove for going 'doolally', and leaving me the heritage of Damnation Alley, Damnation Alleyway No more Arizona, now Phoenix is fried up Oklahoma City; what a pity it's gone Louisiana Delta where the Mississip's dried up No more Chattanooga, Cherokee, Lexington Radiation wasteland, radiation wasteland Ashes coming at me now Craters coming at me now Radiation wasteland, I've got my anti-radiation machine Thank you Dr. Strangelove, I said thank you Dr. Strangelove For giving me the ashes and post-atomic dust The sky is raining fishes it's a mutation zoo Going down Damnation Alley, Well good luck to you Good luck to you now Armour plated angel, motor-pony express Armour plated angel, motor-pony express Going down Damnation Alley It's one hell of a mess So what survived it all? THE COCKROACHES!! Their best and well produced CD to date is Quark, Strangeness and Charm (1978)
