Ferrari/Model Party at Moomia - June 2nd

Hey! I couldn't make it but I sure would like to use some of the exterior car photos for my movie about Chelsea. Can anyone post some (have to be at least 720x486; 72 dpi) for me to use without rights issues? Many thanks in advance.

There are always rights issues... especially when we hire photographers, get insurance, film permits, etc...

But still had a good time, and I forgot to thank you dave for throwing a great party.

I JUST got my ferrari, and I can already tell that life is just a little bit sweeter when you own an exotic... Now I'm COMPLETELY making an ass of myself.

Rights issues: Photos of people may be used without rights permission if the photos were taken in a public place where no expectation of privacy could be expected. Persons depicted cannot be depicted in a way which misrepresents their role in said public place (such as saying 30% of the women who offer their navels for consumption of alcohol get STDs). Finally, the photographer must give his/her permission, which is what I am asking for here.

Of course, it would be great to have releases from the gals and guys shown. That reduces a small risk to nil.

The video is about fun things to do in Chelsea and will be featured in a promotion for a new condominium. Credits can be given for photog and models if desired.

None of the navel drinking shots will be used. I liked several of Niptuck's photos - so Nip - if you'd be happy with the terms above - let me know.

I won't use any of these without the photog's consent at least, as a courtesy to f-chat buddies all.

I think the condominium association should fund one of these little Friday night extravaganzas so that pictures can be taken.

Actually, I own the photos. I have the releases. I paid for the production. The club is NOT a public place, hence the cover charge and the invitation-only aspect of the event.

WE're very well-versed in R&C over here. Why do you think the MTV used the astronaut landing on the moon in early brand marketing? (Hint: It's not because we were smart and it was a clever statement about discovering something new and claiming it as oour own... it's because it was FREE -- and didn't completely suck.)

 

Dear Black355 - and others -

When I have extravagant budgets I really enjoy spreading the money around to all my friends. When I don't, I simply make my case and ask in a nice way. I hope I asked nicely. Last year I threw just such a photo op party (at Mars 2100) for about 150+ people for 5 hours - all the Alize you could guzzle, professional models, prizes and no charge. This time I've got no budget.

If you want to give me the photos and pass on the releases, I would appreciate it. If not, don't worry. I have other resources - and when I throw the next extravaganza - I'll push the wheel around another turn.

Hope I didn't offend anyone. Those who know me, know I'm not a thankless mooch and I don't blame strangers for assuming otherwise.

HAHA thats awesome...but you had an american car. Imagine living in Ann arbor with a foriegn car. I went upstate one time to hicksville, it was like Aus Grey Michigan or something, and while I was filling up someone asked me the following (honest to god):

Guy: What kind of car is that?!?
Me: Its an Audi
Guy: Man thats a nice car, its one of them futuristic cars right?
Me: Umm I Guess.

No joke. It was funny and scarry at the same time. Michigan is great. I love it and try to go back at least two times a year. Plus I get to play at Charlies or Necto every now and then.

 

A NYC parking attendant once had the following conversation with me:

"Mr. Li, is that your new ride?"
"Yes, Jose it is."
"Wow, I've never seen it before. Is it that the new Mustang?"
"...mmm...yeah you should check it out at your Ford Dealer next time"
