When was the first time you felt old?

Yeah! Man I know what you mean! Now the new hires have birthdates in the 80s!

 

That it's June and I'm working. WTF!

I pulled up to a light in my 308 and a nice looking chick pulls up beside me and says, 'I love your car.' To which I reply, 'Thanks, just like Magnum P.I.' Then there is this blank stare on her face. She did not have a clue.

 

"Excuse me sir, [something about a band named avez vous l'heure]?"

Someone correct me.

 

Please sir, do you have the hour [time]?

 

The day I said to myself. Jesus, what the hell kind of music are these kids listening to. I stopped DEAD in my tracks.

 

The issue is that she used a very formal (and polite) form of address--usually reserved for the elderly. Must have stung a bit.

I first knew I was getting old when the hair in my nose and ears was lusher and more dense than that on my head.
And whaddya do when it gets really long, huh? Walk into the barbershop/stylist and tell them "...cut the ears and nose close but leave the top long..."? I don't think so...

The day I walked into Walgreen's and bought a pair of reading glasses.

The moment I tried them on and looked in the little mirror on the display, I saw an old man looking back at me.

I thought I was going to cry.

 

30mins ago when i drove past my old High School and saw students running around on the oval. They looked like little kids to me. I graduated from there in 1997. Damn......i feel old

 

Ok, here's a big one:

When you are out somewhere, and you see a gorgeous young chick out with her mom, (and the mom isn't 'bad'), and you think: 'I'd like to hit on that - the mom, that is.....'.

 

Was out in the town with two friends and a gang of young girls 21 year olds said to me excuse me mister where is the taxi rank

 

Haha, whys that? Did you have you socks pulled up knee high did ya?

 

lol, i get the same feeling each time i drive past my old school, and i graduated from there in 2005

 

Not much makes me feel old, but the first parent-teacher conference I had to attend as the parent was pretty weird.

 

The other funny thing is, as you get older, you realize how good looking you were as a youth. When I go to the store now, almost ALL of the girls 20 and younger look hot. Even the ones that would have been unpopular in high school...

Young women are almost unviversally attractive... ah, to be young again. They have perky ****, nice round *****, soft perfect skin, abdomens that are flat....ahhh

We are too hard on ourselves when we are young...to look now, how I looked then... 40 lbs lighter, toned, more hair...life was good...

As an aside, one of our nurses was talking about her husband recently. She is 30, and quite a looker. She mentions her hubby is 50!!! Argh... I hope he appreciates what he has...

 

When I see kids who look about 10 driving cars, thats when you know!!

 

How about this for you old guys:

About 5 months ago I went to watch the movie Hostel (or whenever it came out) and I got carded for the rated R movie!!! I am 21, sometimes you want to look a little older.

 

A few years ago, I was walking to the lab where I then worked and I passed a large line of people near the main medschool auditorium. As I got closer, I realized that there were many hot women who looked almost criminally young. I thought this must be the basic student health exam for entering freshmen, and I remarked to myself that college students were looking younger every day. Then I noticed a few folks in the line who were in their 30's or above. I realized that the student health clinic was nowhere near where I was, but the medschool administrative offices were nearby. Then I saw a small group emerge from the room with their brand new medschool IDs. I had mistaken medstudents for kids who were three months out of highschool. The worst part is I was only in my late 20s, but I would have been one of the grey beards in the line.

 

Today, my birthday, I turned 22 and realize theres nothing left to look forward to in terms of significant birthdays...except now that I'm probably going to get flamed

 

344 Days, 12 Hours and 11 minutes untill I feel old.




Not that I am counting.......

 

Two specific items confirmed I was getting old:

1. Getting bi-focal glasses because I could not longer read the phone book.

2. Having the doctor advise me that my driver's licence was suspended because of having a heart attack. Automatic....

 

Huhhhhh???? What???? Please elaborate.

 

Where I live, it you have any medical problems regarding the heart (attack for example) or the brain (stroke/seizures), it is law that the doctor must report you to the local DMV and advise you your driver's licence is automatically suspended. Then, when the doctor feels you are sufficiently recovered, he will complete a report that you can submit to have your licence re-instated.

 

I felt old when my friends 6 year old daughter called me an "adult" I was making the comment " I want to be young forever, im never growing up" she blurts out "you cant be a kid Your an adult" im only 27
