Thats fine. We LEAVE at 8:00am (Maybe 8:05am). Im leaving my house around 7:20am which should get me there about 10 to 8am. Eric--Id follow you anywhere. Since I have no clue where youre taking us, if you could figure a place to stop and grab a coffee or something around 9:45-10:am. Thats the time ill have to break off. You dont understand: I HAVE TO BE HOME At 11AM. Other wise, Ill be grounded with Nip. Ill be in the dog house, Ferrari keys will be confiscated--We're talking air removal from all tires and a pad lock on the compressor! Steering wheel removed and stored in the safe. Throttle cable SNIPPED. Trans fluid DRAINED. I taught my wife well, bro. Too well, me thinks.
I'm right there with ya. Maybe not as intense, but that look that I get when I come home 2 hours after I said I would and my son is climbing the walls and the dog is barking...you get the picture. I'm working on a loop that will keep us moving and bring us back in the direction of NYC/NJ. The idea is to head up into Westchester, connect with the Taconic and loop back either on 684 or 84. I'm working on the specifics (not a lot of time to do this but...).
I've got the route down and it promises to be a good one. We're going to head up the Saw Mill to the Taconic. From there we head West on 301 into Cold Spring where we'll connect with 9D (NOT Rt 9). That will take us down along the Hudson to the Bear Mountain Bridge where we'll head over the Hudson onto Seven Lakes Drive. Once we enjoy that stretch of pavement we'll head down the Palisades and go our own ways home. A sweet loop that will include highways, twisties, and awesome scenery. I DID NOT include a breakfast stop due to time constraints, but you can feel free to stop along the way. See you all Sunday morning. We leave at 8am on the money...
Ill be there at about 730-740, but I can only run with you guys for about 30 mins. I have to be at my race at 10 and its a 2 hour ride (according to mapquest )
Isn't anybody here going to WWOC Sunday?....all I did was email Justin, who I do not know from Adam, and I got on the list!. Can not join the run but was hoping to see some of you at least at WWOC. Have a great run. Weather looks great.
The closest Starbucks to Cloisters is on 181 and FT washington. Its about 5 mints from the meet point. BTW... 993 Guy... or Eric, if you may... Great Route, looks like you included both of my favourite highways... taconic and palisades.. Great job!
Thanks...the ones I chose are some great primary and secondary roads! As for Java...you know me John, I'll stop prior to getting to the Cloisters for my caffeine fix. Let me know which way you plan to come up and I can steer you towards a coffee stop on the way up. Then again, I'll just splurge and get a Box O' Joe for the crew. No need to worry...just get to the meet point a few minutes earlier. I charge a quarter per cup...
Sorry you can't join us Vinny. I would have gone to WWOC but due to being a little back and forth this year on the invites, I decided to pass and go for a run with the crew. Looking forward to a beautiful day! Hope to see you soon...
If i bring my own cup, can i get you down to 10 cents? Whats the address? I gotta do a mapquest to get there.
Hi Guys, FGT's in the shop getting some goodies. 50/50 I'll be there w/ my E60 M5. If i can go though, I'll need to split early With Ciao Bella.
Good thing about this route is that you can easily make a U-turn and head back. The entire round trip is approx. 100 miles so unless we encounter "issues" then it shouldn't be a "long" journey.
not sure if that exit exists... If you take the HENRY HUDSON, it's very simple: Get off at the 178ST exit. Once you make the exit...you'll need to make a left onto Fort Washington Avenue; however, there is a no left turn sign because of incoming traffic to your left. Make a right, u-turn, then continue...or just make the left careully! Once you're on Fort Washington Avenue...follow it up straight into the park. You'll see yellow/red/silver in no time.
The exit for the Cloisters is DIRECTLY off the Henry Hudson Pkwy. Once you get past the GWB it will be your first exit on the right. Plain and simple. "Take Joe DiMaggio Highway/Henry Hudson Parkway northbound to first exit after George Washington Bridge (Fort Tryon Park–The Cloisters). This exit is accessible only from northbound lane; if coming from the north, take Henry Hudson Parkway southbound to exit 14–15, make U-turn, and travel north one mile to exit marked Fort Tryon Park–The Cloisters." As for a Gas Station, I recommend you gas up before the run since gas stations will be few and far between on the route we're taking.
I did not think I would be able to make this run. However, looks like I am in. Looking forward to a good run! Ferrari 328GTB.
Hi, I am fairly new to fchat, and didn't get a chance to see this threat until just now. I was happy to read that this group does not carry chainsaw or bite, so I am IN. Looking forward to meeting everyone tomorrow. I am by the Throgsneck bridge if any long Islanders want to meet up first, PM me. Simon Green NSX

Hey man sorry you can't come out with us. Next time. Good luck on your exams, bro. (I have a few friends in med school -- I know what it's like... Oh yeah... I went to law school too, so I've got some first hand experience....) J.
