You have a lot of time on your hands, man. Did you spend an hour searching for all the threads in which you felt slighted so you could post them here? If I have some time later I'll do some searching and provide a link so new members here can read your previous insulting threads. (The one where Doody told you to chill out.) The speeding on public roads wasn't the part that pissed people off, it was the barrage of insults you flung far and wide at others who didn't agree with you. You are at the least tremendously confrontational (especially with me for some reason) and at the same time, seem to take offense easily if someone gives you attitide back about anything--especially driving a Porsche.

Jay talked about selling his 328 for a Porsche and we all gave him LOADS of crap about it. He laughed and joined in. (Then he bought a VW Toe-rag and the fun really started). What do you expect? You are on a FERRARI board! You are going to get some crap, mostly in good fun, about having a Porsche. It's a Porsche/Ferrari thing. Most of the guys that own Ferraris have owned Porsches and like them quite a bit. LOTS of dudes on this board show up to the Ferrari events in whatever kind of car they have and nobody cares and nobody gives attitude--because they LIKE Ferraris. That's all that's important. You on the other hand seem to have something to prove or an axe to grind about having a Porsche and frankly, nobody cares!

If I go over to the Lambo board and start talking about my Ferrari they are going to give me crap. It's expected. It's a Ferrari/Lambo thing. Get over it. I don't think anyone is serious. Your modus operandi is to get along fine until anyone says anything that you disagree with, then you jump down their throats. That's just not the way to get along in a social situation, even one like this on the internet. I doubt you do that in real life, but maybe you do. You seem to lose your sense of inhibition on the forum.

I have spoken with both Jay and Scott since the Lambo of Boston opening and they both know that I was bummed I wasn't invited, I know it wasn't their fault, and I thought they were bragging by posting it here. They were! I probably would have too. And we are still friends, it's no big deal, and has nothing to do with you. So why are YOU making a big deal out of it? The issue is long-since dead. Let's get back on topic.

Worcester is a fine area. I went to school there and used to ride my motorcycle all around out there too. What area for photos did you specifically have in mind?

So now you change from a private joke back to being irritated that you weren't invited. The other day you flew off the handle in the cars forum when someone mentioned their bmw's and you insulted him w/o checking his personal info.

My point was and is that you have a red chip on your shoulder. Unlike most on this board (greater fchat) who enjoy great cars and are happy with what they drive, you can't wait to make the distinction that you OWN a ferrari.

I was a ferrari fan long before most here owned one, standing in pit lane in montreal a few feet from alboreto and arnoux while their cars were being worked on in the sun long before they had garages.

What gets me is the personal attacks, yesterday you called me immature and now today you are telling me how to get along in social situations.

Here's how I don't act in social situations, I don't act special because of the car i purchased (if i wanted to buy a 308 or mondial for cash, I could), I don't go around telling people how to act without cause, and I don't ignore people becuase they CHOOSE to drive something different.

Rob Lay set this forum up in a certain way and it has been discussed by the membership many times. It is open equally to those who have an interest in or appreciate ferrari (cars and F1). Maybe you should start birdchat.

I go to car forums to have a good time posting or meeting people who appreciate beautiful cars not to be baited into arguments by little guys with big chips on their shoulders. Academic arguments can get heated but you mention doody, doody is a class act, and we are fine. Be happy with your mondial and enjoy it, why draw a line to exclude others just because they choose a different car as long as the common interest is appreciation of the CARS. I don't think my 928 is offensive to anyone's eyeballs, at least many NE fchat members have been generous enough to compliment it. Smile and be inclusive. May the sun shine with a red glow on your photo session.

Tom's Porsche is a beautiful car and I would invite him to a photo shoot any day of the week. Just because he doesn't own a Ferrari doesn't mean he should be excluded from a fun little gathering like this. Tom next time I do another event like in April I want you to come in your Porsche if you can make it.

Is that the same 928 that showed up at KTR dyno day? The guy ruined the front line for Ferraris only and would not stop talking about Porsches!

    Jason,
The event you organized was the most exhilirating and enjoyable event that i have attended in my 3 years of posting on fchat. It was also the most diverse with ferrari's, lambo's, quite a few porsches, and bmw's and of course a very nice Ford. You and your co-host Mr. Cohen were gracious emcee's. Perfectly run and memorable.

The NYC crowd at that event is one of the most active regions and has a number of p-cars as a regular part of their crew. That was really a fun event with the enjoyment of the cars as the main focus. Thanks again and say hi to your Mom for me.

The fact of the matter is that this is Ferrarichat, a site devoted to Ferrari enthusiasts, and if I wanted to organize an event for Ferraris only, it's my perogative. In fact, I had no such intention with this photo shoot thing, and I never said it was for Ferraris only, although I may have implied that by calling it a Ferrari photo shoot. It honestly didn't even occur to me that others would want to show up. I figured it would be me and two other cars at most.

I would not show up at the Larz Anderson museum on German car day with my Ferrari and insist that they let me put a Ferrari on the lawn. You would not accuse them of being "Ferrari snobs" on Italian day because they aren't showing Porsches. It's perfectly fine to organize an event for a certain type of car, and doing so doesn't make you any less appreciative of other marques. I subscribe to 3 car magazines. I love cars. I had a conversation in the parking lot of a Best Buy a couple weeks ago with a guy driving a pimped Civic that was pretty cool. Not my cup of tea personally, but it was still a cool car. I admit that I know virtually nothing about MB and Porsches. They never really turned my needle. I have always loved Corvettes though. We all have our preferences.

I am putting effort into organizing something fun for Ferrari owners and if others want to show up, that is perfectly fine with me. I don't think it is fair to call me a Ferrari snob because I am doing this. I do love Ferraris more than other cars, but that is just my personal preference.

I guess dan's pm had no effect on you.

You called a guy a troll. Like others on that thread you assumed he didn't own a ferrari when in fact he does. Calling someone a troll is usually considered an insult.

Flying off the handle is insulting someone before you even know them or what they drive. You did that.

As I already posted you can enjoy your little 2 car parade. If you have any further problems with me complain to my face with just the 2 of us present.

I am glad you admit you know nothing about cars because it shows.

It is this behavior which will continue to shrink Mass fchat functions to 2 car parades. However you are wrong again, there were a few f-cars at larz anderson last year on p-car day and they were quite welcome.

Give it a rest, you look worse than silly.

I know I'm still a newbie here, and my opinion probably doesn't matter all that much to the veterans of the site, but can we please drop this non-sense.

Like he said, its his perogative if he wants to do a F-car only shoot. If we can put this silly issue to rest, I would love for us to come up with a time, date and location for the shoot. I would absolutley love to meet some area Ferrari owners and take part in this photo shoot.

Birdman even insulted my "Toe-rag" in front of my wife. The guy just thinks he is God's gift because he gets to own TWO Ferraris.

We ARE still friends???? Ooops, my bad. Just ignore all the emails you are going to be getting from the Craigslist "men looking for men" personals. :)

:) Don't say that too loud, one is supposed to be my wife's. The comment of course was to help you illustrate to your wife your true need for another sports car!

At Dan's request I shall not respond to RacerX's latest post except to say that people can read the entire thread he references and decide if my comment to the BMW guy was appropriate or not.

In light of the fact that I can't seem to plan a nice Fchat event without taking crap for it, I am cancelling the whole idea unless someone else wants to pick up and run with it. I'll find my own nice quiet spot to take pictures of the car.

    Don't do that, please.

Folks - another Moderator sent both Birdman and racerx suggesting they ignore each other.

Prior to the unfortunate interruptions, you demonstrated you were and no doubt remain highly capable of organizing a Ferrari gathering/photoshoot.

That being the case - just walk it off. Not the event - the e-bs drama.

(While EBS means Emergency Broadcasting System, e-bs is something altogether different. ;))

We now return to our regularly scheduled programming.

    Go for what you know!

    Thanks Wax.

I just can't believe this whole thing blew up over a thread starter not responding to a post that was abstract at best. How does a photoshoot request turn into an arguement? Whatever.

That being said, I am in contact with the superintendent of the location I posted about earlier. I will nail down a few dates in July in case of clouds/rain etc and anyone that cares to travel to the Easton/Sharon line and have shots of their car in front of a unique backdrop is invited.

The only stipulation is the photos cannot be used for commercial purposes.

I hope we can set up a time to take some great shots of the cars. Like I mentioned, I would like to be there to help out.

"little guys with big chips on their shoulders." Wow with a statement like that, it's obvious that you really don't know Birdman at all. If you did know him, it would be apparent how utterly ridiculous that statement is. He’s one of the most down-to-earth and unpretentious guys I know. Birdman… count us in on that photo op.

Not to keep this thread going, but I think it is only fair to let people who do not know Birdman know that the negative comments directed towards him in this thread could not be further from the truth. From the first day I met him, Jonathan has been one of the most welcoming, helpful, and friendly guys I have ever met. It's people like him that make this board a worthwhile place.
