    Today was an unusually windy day in Sacramento and thinking to myself, "You know, its a great day to fly a kite". But I didnt have time to troll through town looking for kite stores, so I improvised on some materials laying around the house.

    * 3/16 foam board for large picture frames, paper sides(not pvc sides)
    * Nylon fishing line, thin!
    * Scotch Tape
    * Paper party streamer roll, blue
    * Xacto hobby knife
    * ruler
    * pencil(for sketching cutout lines on board)

    I sized the wing cutouts so when I slid the wings in, it would be tight enough so they wouldn't move around, but not so tight it would mess the plane body up. Put it all together, found an open spot nearby and tossed it up in the air. It shook violently at first, nosediving, spiraling and fell to the ground. After playing around with the streamer length, 8 feet was enough to keep it stable. Tossed it up in the air again and she took to flight. I let the spool go free and up she went and held steady. I was stoked!

    Why the X-29? I have always been fascinated by it. The Canard design is so untraditional that it works better than traditional. I couldn't find an X-29 flying anything on the net. Now I did it all by myself!
