If the paparazzi didn't exist, then Hollyweird would go belly up, they NEED that P/R....... they live on it, it feeds them (regardless of WHERE it happens).

Not saying it's right or wrong, I'm saying it's the only way some of these 'stars' stay in the limelight.

All Brittney and Paris have to do to end this is invite about 6 photogs to travel WITH them every day for about 2 weeks, and after that they will be 'no news' as they will be saturated. Anyone remember when Brittney and Christina Aguilera were 'equal' ? Where's Christina now ? Remember when Madonna was in the same boat ? Old news.

 

Then how in heaven's name did Hollywood manage to survive for the first 70 years without it?

Yes, they need publicity, marketing, ink, all that - but a gaggle of leghumpers following your every step? Dissecting your garbage for bits of info? Renting helicopters to fly over your secure house for a picture??

Joe celeb is worth $10MM a movie because their name on the marquee brings in $15MM more in ticket sales (to pull a figure out of a hat).

Why does that mean they're obliged to be followed and annoyed every waking moment of the day by a pack of hounds?

it's a discussion - no need to get angry about it. Yes, of course I would make a movie for $10Million - but that's a specious argument, because no-one will offer it to me, because in turn they won't make $15MM by virtue of the fact that I'm in it!

My point is - even if I did make a movie for $10MM, or $40MM, or pick any figure you like - it doesn't mean the world is entitled to know every single move I make, what food I eat, where I buy clothes, how much sugar I put in my coffee, etc.

It's been said in this thread before, and I agree - the paparazzi are bottom-feeders, and anyone who actually gives a d@mn about what they produce is baked.

And no, the celebrities do not deserve to be treated this way.
