    Hi
I have gotten a new annoying sound from my 355 GTS F1. When making right turns at slow speed. I get a squeaky sound as if two metal parts gets rubbed against each other. I have read about headers, bypass valve etc. but can’t find a description that really fits. As many other rattles from the e355 engine, it seems to go away as the engine gets really hit.
Any one that knows what I am talking about or have any idea of how to locate it?

Does the squeak disappear as you apply your parking brake in a slow-speed right turn?

Haven’t tried that, any idea of what it could be?

That test will tell you if (or not) your parking brake shoes are deteriorated, thereby causing the noise.

If the noise is from metal parts rubbing only in right turns, then I'd check the parking brake first, brake pads/rotors second, and wheel bearing assemblies third.

Tried the parking brake and it didnt make any difference. My guess now is that it is bypass valve that is makeing the squeek. Cant really tell why it is doing it while turning but when I manually move the valve it squeeks in the same way as when driving in turns. Will try adjusting the linkage and se if that helps.

I dont think it is the CV joint, the sound doesnt come from that area and it doesnt make that kind of squeek ;-)

Good to see that you seem to have it isolated. My 348 is without the exhaust bypass valve, so that's out of my purview. I bet that you'll have it fixed easily by adjusting your EV linkage, though.

I adjusted the linkage, making it 2 turns longer. I am hoping this will hold the valve cover firmer in place while closed. Seems to work, but I need to drive a bit more to be sure. Still not sure if this was the only squeek source though ;-)

All creaks/squeeks solved for now. The last one was the front bonnet lock mechanism that neded a little oil :)
