Crazy Mexico Argentina game. I am really surprised the Mexicans did as well as they did. Great game near the end in overtime. I even felt bad for the Mexicans. Oh well. Argentina advances! Rodriguez's goal is down as one of the best of the cup!

    Portugal vs. Nederland tomorrow! :)

What a disgrace the Portugal and Dutch game was, filled with cheats on both teams. It's games like this that gives the game of football a bad name.

Amen. What was there like 20 cards given? Both teams are disgraceful. The blame does not fall on the referee, he did what he could and giving out that many cards usually calms the game down but it didn't happen. Should've been 5 red cards, Figos headbutt should've got him a red, disgraceful especially from a player with that much experience. Those lieing cheats are going to get whats coming to them against England, no deco, no costinha, no ronaldo, figo is going to be suspended, and England are looking stronger. Watch out for my boys...COME ON ENGLAND!!!

I agree it was a disgrace. But I feel it was a tad more on the Nederland side. Not because I am Portuguese, but I just couldnt believe what I saw. Too much BS. But again, there was crap from both sides. What was up with that guy who threw Petit down when he was just checking up on the hurt Nederland player?

Not sure how much further we (Portugal) can go. Nonetheless, I am happy we have come this far.

And Inman, I agree England is strong. But.....we bet them before and we will beat them again.....I hope :) There is alot of hate in your statement against our team. But keep in mind all of the teams cheat my friend. ;)

Gerrit, you there bro? Sorry for the loss. It could have gone either way.

Vasco, in Euro 2004, you should not have beaten england, and it was on penalty kicks as well. BUT, we scored a goal in extra time, but the ref called it back for a foul, even though he clearly grabbed his own player....

...Anyways, you have deco (playmaker) missing, costinha (defensive midfielder), ronaldo will probably still be hurt, and figo is more than likely going to get suspended for that moment of stupidity.

True, Figo should be punished for that. But how about the guy that tossed Petit, or the Deco? Deco gets pushed on the ground and gets the red card....beautiful.

You are also correct those guys who will miss the next game will indeed be missed. But we have a few good guys still on the bench and feild. Maniche with his rocket kicks, Petit, Nuno Gomes, Sobrosa, Meira, Carvalho and so on.

But as I said, I am happy to make it where we have. Its been a loong, loooong time.

Yea the guy should've got punished for the guy who tossed petit. And I think the ref should've sent Deco off after his first yellow, that was a horrible tackle, but Netherlands should've given the ball back to them.

Hey, I'm crying in my Heineken. :-(
I shouldn't have watched part of the game, that jinxed it. :) I helped Michael today so can't expect everything to work out!
Pat is happy, I can now wash my Holland T-shirt.

The good thing is that I might actually now be motivated to try and catch more football/soccer games. I am feeling more Dutch lately, must be old age or something.
All the best to Portugal in the next game.

    Thanks G. :)

Netherlands is the LAST team I thought we would have a dirty match up against. Seriously. But what's done is done.

I think it's time FIFA does something about all this crap. For a couple of years now they've really been pushing this "Fair Play" business but they don't do anything about it, but give out a couple of cards which in most cases, doesn't really hurt the team. I think it's time they do something drastic like suspend the WHOLE team if they behave like Portugal and the Dutch did yesterday, that way it shows the players/teams that they are serious and you would see an end to all this crap really quick.

**** this. That was a horrible pile of ****. **** the world cup. That ref sucks. Garbage like this puts me off from watching this clowny event called the Fifa World Cup. Acting auditons and ludicrous officiating defines this sport. Oh well, that's it for me!

Take it easy bro. I just edited your post. The ref may be an idiot to you but he does not have *THAT* problem. I wouldnt wish that on anyone.

This World Cup is getting crazier by the minute! :)
