well here is my logic, replace the manifolds, cats and exhaust while doing my 30k mile service, and repainting valve covers red.... i figure since the engine is out it would be a good time to do all of that.

I have installed a mille-miglia exhaust on my 355 gts 1998 model and I have had weight loss, goose bumps and more torque for less cost than a tubi and as the US. dollar buys more in Australia you should find it quite economical even with shipping. Look at the web site through google. I am very happy with mine.

That sounds correct to me...I dont think Ferrari would have went to the trouble of making a secondary exhaust path if power was not a big consideration.
In my experience cats are the biggest power theives.

I agree...Hyperflow all the way! They flow within 5% of test-pipes, look good, sound good, help resale value and keep the air clean. Well worth the price IMO.

I have. I removed my test pipes to install HyperFlows. I noticed absolutely zero loss of power, no loss of sound, and MUCH better smelling garage!

The test pipes just became a pain in the butt during my North Carolina emissions testing, and I always worried that when the time came to sell my 348, they'd be a big liability.

I have both Hyperflow Cats and Tubi on my 97 355B. Don't really notice any real performance improvement (maybe a little low end torque with the cats) but the sound is wonderful. I never turn on the stereo, the sound of the 355 is much more musical to me! Don't regret either upgrade! (Plus, my stock cats were going out.)

Scott, how many miles are on the car now? Which cat was going? I believe that one of those cats was replaced in 2002 or so.
