Nothing wrong with a bit of chrome, tastefully done of course. I prefer polished metal myself, such as aluminium or stainless steel (and a polished Tubi Style exhaust is close to chrome) as chroming adds (a little) extra weight and drifts in and out of fashion. Alternatives include painting, e.g., Alsa Corp's ChromeFX (unbelievable mirror-like results) or their MirraChrome as used by McLaren F1 (more like polished aluminium). People should not dismiss out of hand what others want to do, it is rude, judgmental and narrow-minded. Afterall Erin only appears to want to change parts that are replaceable such as the radiator cap. Always bear in mind that everyone is entitled to their own opinion - even if they are wrong ;-)
Oh I don't have a problem with chrome. I did see pics of "A" 348, but I'm still not convinced. I still say Ferrari_Girl is really Ferrari_Dude.
There is a shot of the engine bay.............but alas...........the rad cap doesn't look chrome to me. Probably before she added it. Erin.....I hope you are getting the 348 out on thise great New England roads. Rt 100 in Vermont is one of my favs.
so weres the chromed ferrari engine then??? We can all post chromed ricers pictures (which i do like me self) but we need pictures of chromed ferrari engines. I like the chromed 360 Image Unavailable, Please Login
Psssshh... What a shoddy job; I still see some black hoses and belts... Well said, Clive... And a black 348 with a pink Alcantara interior would kick ass...
Ferrari Girl, First, welcome to FChat. Second, get used to this....there are some men who are extremely intimadated by a female working on cars. If chrome is your fancy....go for it! It is YOUR car. Kudos Ferrari Girl! P.S. There are women that can adjust their own shift linkage; this is not unheard of. Niki
You are the exception to the rule, and a VERY RARE exception at that. I am still calling BS on "her" fixing the shift linkage. IF "she" does I wanna see PROOF! Until then, I say Ferrari "Girl" is actually Ferrari Guy trying to pull a prank on the brotherhood. Well your not fooling this brother.
She callin you out! I think she is just a new owner as I with a zillion questions & this as only resource... Great looking 348, with patience & questions as you are doing it will be fine. I personally would not mess with "bling" in the engine bay, focus elsewhere , interior, sills etc (this imho is what looks dated)... Engine cool enough & you may mess up something in the process.... Do not get discouraged, this is a great resource! Nice to have a chick that is into her car for something more than just putting on make-up in on way to work.... Chris
Why don't we do the same thing we had that one kid who claimed his parents had a Bentley, SL55's, F355, etc to post a pic of the 348 with the driver side window 1/4 down and the passenger side window 3/4 down and the driver side seat reclined all the way back and stand in front of the 348 with a piece of paper that has your f-chat screename on it. Not an unusual request assuming you have a digital camera, piece of paper, and a 348. I don't think your lying but other people do and that would "shut them up" if you really wanted to. Good luck.
Brotherhood. Does a man have to prove he's a man to be taken seriously on FC? All this fuss because I put a chrome cap on my 348 and asked about other chrome parts that might be attractive....WOW
It’s all a matter of personal taste. Some people it seems, have yet to realize that and believe that because they don't like it its wrong. And like it or not this place can sometimes turn into a digital pissing contest.
NO, actually all this fuss because we have had plenty of fonies on this site. People faking to be something they aren't.
I have to appologize for some fellow owners in the U.S. Apparently they did not receive the memo, chrome wheels or "bling" anything belongs on their Escalade...etc.
Hard to imagine much chrome on a Ferrari Engine compartment, it's not from Detroit, just dosen's doesen't fit a Ferrari image some how....... whats next Hooker Headers or Isky stickers on the rear window, baby moons? However, polishing aluminum or other factory bare metal, accenting with Red or Black paint, wrinkle optional, in the right places, maybe better engine compartment lighting for night viewing. Just my 2 cents worth, Doug Crall
