Is there a place where I can have made a fake license plate?

I know Griot's garage recently offered fake Euro plates, which was cool. So I wondered whether there is a place that sells fake US plates. Basically you tell them what state, style and words and they'll make one for you. Would be neat on a show car (in addition of course to its legal plates).

from the legal section of licenseplates.tv:

"Pursuant to statues enacted into law by the State of California, Autogeardepot.com, Inc. and LICENSEPLATES.TV do not accept orders for replica California license plates for shipment to the State of California. "

Well I can understand that, although it is easy to circumvent that law. I believe the Euro plates deal in Griot's garage was similar. But he could freely sell them to his clientel in the US.

I mean these plates are identical to the real ones, so one could cause some havoc with them. The German plates I got even have the TUEV seal. :)

This plate form Europe (licenseplates.tv), are not real, they are not even replica. Take a look at Slovenian plate and here you have original slovenian plate. (on licenseplates.tv are diferent numbers and sticker is missing, the same is with Italian and german plates)

That's double interesting: An Enzo in Slovenia (NNO you reading this?) and the point about the wrong numbers and missing stickers.

Goober: You shouldn't. Never let a lady wait. :)

I checked that web site, but I wonder if their replica plates are exact reproductions, or are more like the illustrations on their site. I need a reproduction accurate enough to get past my state DOT.

I'm pretty sure these people aren't in the business of doing anything illegal, but what you do with their products are strictly your own business.

    A story from years ago...
I have a friend that went to England, bought a Norton MC, and toured Britain and Europe for about 5 months. When he returned, he had the Norton shipped back home. Jon drove that bike for over 5 years on the British plates, before regstering it in the US. By then, I think the local Gendarmes finally figured out he wasn't just visiting. :)
