Actually there one or two scenes with the top on and they were in the first couple of seasons. I have one in mind and I'll check tonight to see which show it was.
I think it was in the very first episode, Magnum drives out of the gates of the estate, releases the latches on the top and "slides" it back and it magically disappears !!! Really funny.
Yes, the world's most convenient targa top... just buy a new one every day because you left the last one on the road behind you. There are a couple of "rainy night stakeout" scenes in the series where the top is on. I guess someone here's going to ask me to scan through the first 4 seasons and find those...
I was just watching some of the first season with my 2 1/2 year old daughter this afternoon and she looked up from playing to see Magnum's 308 go across the screen. "Daddy! That's your Ferrari!" Big grin from daddy. That's my girl! "Actually," I explained to her, "Magnum has a GTS. Ours is a GTB." That subtle detail was lost on her. The best part of the show was when Higgins wanted Magnum to get a tuneup for the Ferrari. MAGNUM: "Higgins! How much does a tune up on a Ferrari cost?" HIGGINS: <Big grin> Birdman
