I already checked with a search button.

What wire do I use for a speed sensor (Alpine Nav Unit) in the 360. What color is the wire and where is it?

Plenty of threads but no answers.

Thanks a ton for the help !!!

Isn't there already a speedometer that lets you know how fast you're going???

    Mario,

The speed sensor wire is in pin 1 on the bottom plugs on the Becker unit( beside the GPS Antenna socket) and the one directly under it, Pin 2 is the reverse signal wire which you may also need. Sorry I can't remember the wire color.

Thanks for everyone who has chipped in to resolve my issue. The answer came from a multitiude of people both from here and finally from a Ferrari factory source. I have the answer and completed the Nav system.

Here is the much needed answer:

-Not all 360's have a speed sensor wire on the harness leading into the radio deck. My car did not have it and another 360 in my back yard did not have it.

-The only speed sensor wire available and needed to operate a Nav System (at least a system requiring one) is the speed sensor wire leading into the Gauge Cluster.

-To get a speed sensor reading you must tap into the wire accessed by removing the gauge cluster or cleverly from under the dash.

-The wire needed is a Bianco (White) with Giallo (Yellow) stripe wire leading into the factory gauge cluster which is used for the speedo and odometer.

Fact - The Becker radio system is used by other cars with a speed sensor wire already adapted into the factory wiring system. My Ferrari and likley others do not have this wire.

Fact - The information listed above regarding wires and associated pin connectors is correct..however, not all Ferrari's were produced with the associated wires.

Fact - My car is a U.S. car - Euro's have the same wire harness.

Thanks again - I now have a NAV system that is working.

    Mario

P.S. This was placed here in duplicate to help those in the future when people do a search. MODS - I have you leave it here and in the 360 section :)
