They won't supply that, it's up to the installer to know that, remember I found out the hard way..$$$. here's a post you may want to read. http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=82026&highlight=extension+plug+wires+resistance
Yes, get NEW covers for the plug holes...you are obviously getting water down them when driving in the rain or washing the car. New covers will seal tightly, and keep the water out. I had this problem on my 78 308GTS and after replacing the plug covers, no more problems with water getting in! You will get a BAD miss from this common problem.
QUOTE=ham308]The connectors on my 308 have around 2 kOhm resistance (so there is something other than pure metal in there) and the cables are approx. 1 kOhm more. I don't use the resistance sparkplugs and till now, I have had no problems with misfires, corrosion and so on. Oh, and no interference on the radio, when it decides to work.[/QUOTE] From reading the post and the above captioned quote, it appears that if properly set the wires should ohm out at about 1 kOHM..
I am a bit confused about the plugs and the wires The NGK plugs are of the resistor type and the wires as well? Reading so many opinions, my question is can they be combined or not?
Yes you can use the resistor plugs. But the resistance I'm referring to specifically is the resistance you may have if the plug wires core is not pierced correctly in the distrubutor cap. (if not pierced correctly you will have too much resistance). The wires themselves will have some resistance ...yes! The issue is keeping that value low (hence the correct piercing of the plug wires).. Come on someone here has to know the ohm value for the plug wires from the cap to the extensions..throw me a bone here, so we can help ricky x.
