Surgery

Just got out of surgery, had a deviated septum fixed. Easy as cake, only 35 minutes or so, throat hurts from the tube but i feel fine otherwise. Recommend it for anyone that needs it.

 

Got one done. Didn't help me much, can still only breath out of one nostril at a time.

Just wait til you do your follow up and they pull the dressing out of your nose! Ouuuuuuch...

 

Actually, there is no stuffing in my nose. Just a little gauze under my nose to catch any "leakage".

 

I might need a tumor removed from my anus. No joke.

Hey I can only breath out of one of my nostrils as well, I thought it was normal

 

I was hoping more for the deviated septum... LOL

 

Haha, I thought it was normal too. I never questioned it until I was about 15.

High School wrestling was always fun trying to breath with one nostril with your face planted in the mat.

 

I actually have the one nostril issue too. hrmmmm. how does one go about this? and is it an elective? or covered under insurance of any kind? and 35 minutes? what was the procedure?

 

Umm, go to an ear/nose/throat dr. to get it checked. It is elective, but it is not cosmetic and I guess can be considered a health issue. I was covered by insurance and I assume most would be. Only about 35 minutes, really i'm having no pain, just a little discomfort under my nose and plenty of dried blood. Really am not sure what they did, I will find out in 2 weeks when i go for my checkup.

 

Didn't know some people could only breathe out of one nostril at a time til now, wow.

 

I broke my nose on a diving board when I was a kid & had that fixed about 15 years ago. The month after surgery was miserable partly because I did not get proper ice packs in the hospital in the 1st 24. I still have problems breathing at night lying down but at least my nose is strait.
