Since we had so much fun the last 2 years, I'm a gonna host a BBQ again this year!!!!! Enjoy a drive thru back-roads in north-central MA to Groton. Then visit with fellow FChat members & enjoy some of the best BBQ & other food you've ever eaten. The first two BBQs produced some real culinary treats, so we'll do it that way again. For those who've joined since last summer, here's the threads for the first 2 BBQs: http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=61179 http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=25007&page=4&pp=20&highlight=bbq Feel free to organize in-route meeting places & caravans. I need a headcount by 1 JULY so I can get the brisket & ribs ordered. Given the size of the event, & to keep the preparation load down to something I can pull off, I'm again asking for volunteers to bring some of the menu items (see MENU below). DATE & TIME: Sunday, 30 JUL 1:30 PM til I decide it's bedtime, or the mosquitos start draging people down the hill. It'll be OK to arrive early, but you may get put to work setting up or watching something cook ;^) BTW, I'll be timing the ribs & brisket to be done about 2:00. RAIN DATE: Sunday, 5-AUG. same time & place. Caveat: My sons are grown & moved out so there's no recreation eqpt. (swings, pool, etc.) for them to play on/with. However, there's a big yard & woods to explore, & we're safely away from the road. You'll be responsible for keeping an eye on them. Don't just arrive broken down & surprise everyone like a certain Down Easterner did the first year... ;^)
Linda and I will be there. Since Chris beat us to the punch on potato salad this year, we'll bring a dessert. Looking forward to it! Tom
I'll be there, I'll contribute breads and dessert type things too. I look forward to seeing all of you there.
Answering for my husband: My husband and our son attended last year's event (only for about an hour ... meltdown city!). My husband and I would like to come this year...as we are coming from a wedding in NH that weekend, we're opting to go the Chips/Salsa route. Looking forward to meeting everyone!
Verell, your hospitable invites every year only grow more tasty. Again, alas, I'm conflicted, as I'll be in DC for a wedding. Have fun! I'm very envious. vty, --Dennis P.S. Your rain date, Sunday August 6th, is Tutto Italiano this year....
What about breaking something at the BBQ and staying until 2 AM fixing it. Is that OK this year?? Birdman
OK, you can stay work on it. However, Just keep the noise down. I'm going to bed at 11:00PM, have to be at work the next AM... ;^)
Verell, look forward to another great Ferrari BBQ! Hopefully without the recent mechanical distractions! I will talk to you prior to the event, you can then let me know what to bring. I will plan on arriving early to help set-up. John.
If its ok with Verell, I might be able to bring "a few" Italian motorcycles. Perhaps 1 Aprilia and 1 Ducati.
I'll be there along with Bryan. Not sure what F-car we will take though... What should we bring? Thanks - looking forward to it!
Yep- I'll bring the onions again ready for the grill. And, I resemble that second quote. I promise to avoid taking anything apart while I'm there. Verell- thanks for organizing this again- it's always lots of fun and something we all look forward to. jwise
You know we're going to run out of things to talk about. I don't see a "little taking apart" is going to hurt.
i'll bring brownies. . . . . . . . Mindbendingly good brownies. . . . NOTE: the above comments in no way reflect the opinions or wishes of the staff, management, or employees of Fchat or the New England Region. The term 'mindbendingly good' only describes the flavor, richness, and texture. It is in no way meant to be misconstrued as to be describing a mind altering or out of body experience from consumption of said food item. As for what to bring, I am very flexible. Should I wait to see what is needed as we get closer? Looking forward to meeting everyone. - Ron
Stop by Starbucks this Sunday - I will make Bryan drive his green-eyed monster and I'll take the red 328.
