negative. MS will never be a manager, and even if he comes, he'll never be a good one. remember, a good race driver doesn;t mean a good manager. andreas pointed out a few. manager in a F1 team is more than just knowing how to drive. it's all about organizing and allocating works stuff, motivating, dealing with problems internal and external as well. a manager must also be responsible for all the work done, keeping the time frame in mind, etc etc. remember, when JT came to Ferrari in 1993, he was a damn successfull peugeot manager in the rally division. right till 1999, then he brought success. 6 years, taking into account with someone HIS experience. what has MS got?

i'm sure they have all in mind. luca should have started thiking about retirements, etc of top ppl in the organisation 2-4 years ago. it's all about thiking in advance. they are just keeping mum. just my guess. but then again, if i'm not wrong, Flav too will be retiring soon...no?

I didnt want to open another topic on Kimi as there have been too many ....

Here is an exerpt from Ted Kravitz's (ITV reporter) interview with Ron Dennis about the Kimi pitstop incidents:

So who still believes Raikonnen is going to renew with McLaren? :)

Only a fool (Alonso) signs up with McLaren.

PS: I'm an Alonso fan, so don't knock me for that comment. I hate to watch the lamb walk to the slaughter.

interesting. ron has always had that thing to critise his drivers in the media. i remember he called DC a 'brain fade' few years back for stalling the car when it was the parade lap. anyways, i just think kimi's patience has run out now. time to move on. i just hope it's the red stable is where he's headed to.

I think he jumped the gun and signed in a moment of panic and frustration. I wonder whether he even knew that Newey was leaving at that point?

I'm sure if he had waited till now he could have gotten the same amount of money AND a reliable car.

But then again life is fair and now gives Kimi a chance to clinch the title in 07.

No, he was getting frustrated that he didn't get more money from Renault. And back then rumors were flying that Renault would close shop at the end of 2006, hence leaving him without a seat.

If McLaren, with thier resources, get the car to suit Alonso they will fly. Ron will no longer be able to blame his driver because FA will be going to the team as a two time world champ, err excuse me jumped the gun there, lol. You can't ever count out McLaren, we all saw that last year. I think Ron's frustration stems from having the fastest car last year and having two drivers that couldn't get the job done. I can see his point, but still think he was wrong by announcing the FA deal so early.

I think Kimi could have gotten the job done, but since 2001 the Mercedes Reliability has been an achilles heel for McLaren.

I am a big Alonso fan and I think this move is Alonso's way of showing that if he can win the WDC again with McLaren and help bring them back to true championship contention then he is truly one of the greats. As much as I despise ol' Spoonface, he left Benneton and went to Ferrari when Ferrari wasn't even in the top 3 constructors and took them back to the top (albiet with lots of help from Bridgestone).

As for Kimi, he will be stepping into a competitive package with a proven reliability record if he goes to Renault, but he will be under a lot of pressure to win right off the bat or else his reputation as the fastest driver will be seriously tarnished. But, again, it's better than Ferrari because if the next Ferrari is not competitive then the media will blast him as being the weakest link.

who knows, maybe MS will win WDC again and he might retire. I think Kimi should go to ferrari but probably better for his career to be at renault.

I would like to see him at Ferrari with MS for at least one season. That way Hekki can have the second seat at Renault. I still can't believe that Renault lost Alonso to McLaren.
