I guess I'm a sucker for the white on white treatment.

Here's the same photo...I did what I could for it.

I have lots of shots of the cars, and can't really add much there, unless you want to see the carnage in Turn 1 (right in front of us), which I will have to pull off the video. Here are some better shots of grid girls though, and an unofficial grid girl...

That unofficial grid girl was everywhere all weekend. She even made it to the F1.com photos and The RED BULLETON News Paper. Some friends from Ohio met her and I guess her ex-boyfriend at last years race. They saw her again this year (NO Boyfriend) on the paddock walk and got some pics with her. My friend informed me that that the TATA's are larger than last year.

In the bottom right of pic 13 of your last post it appears that a Renault guy is sabotaging Michael's car for next week.

    LOL

He is actually working on Fisi's Renault parked behind. That was the end of qualifying and the cars go into parc ferme.

Andreas, again you got some great shots! Do you walk the track during the race? Have media creds or just shoot over the shoulder thru the holes?

I wish. Only had that once in Hockenheim, in the good ol' days...

No, all pics are from Saturday where you can switch seats. All shot through holes etc.

Thanks for the pics Andreas ... looks like the Bigma came in real handy. Great zoom ability and sharp pictures too.

One point to note though .. most of the on-track action seemed to be shot at 1/2000+ secs making the cars look like they were parked. A slower shutter speed would help convey the speed of the cars though.

Good observation. It's because I forgot to pack a monopod. I tried to move with the cars, but at 750 mm magnification (500x1.5) shot from freehand, that gets difficult. So all I could do was freeze them. The other limiting factor was the "hole" I was shooting through: Just not enough width to really pan.
