What a bad way to end his career. (Zidane) Of course Materazzi said something, no player would do this because of fun. Thing with Zidane is, no matter what was said, he's been a professional footballer for... what, 15 years?

In one head-butt, Zidane proved once and for all what a bunch of cheese-eating-surrender-monkeys the French are. Not to mention what a bunch of girlie-cry-babies they were, eveytime someone got nudged.

Reading some comments on other websites...I can't believe some people are defending Zidane's actions. Materazzi is a dirty footballer according to them...and Zidane was just a victim of his dirty tactics. Idiots..
People forget that Materazzi is not the only guy on the soccer field who offends other players.

Regardless of what was said, im sure in his career he has heard it before....the head butt was a red card deserved, anyone that knows anything about soccor and its rules knows that the ref calls yesterday were al spot on, the penalty kick was also correct for France. End of day, it is what it is. Good for the boys in blue, well deserved victory and they played a great game throughout ..... they got there equalizer, and played a tight defensive game. Good final game to watch.

My wife was reading Globo.com yesterday (Brasilian news/TV organization) were they had an article stating that several deaf speech professionals lip read the replay of the seconds leading up to the head butt multiple times, and it was suggested that something along the lines of "your sister is a whore" were said.......LOL.......I am not making this up. It doesn't make what he did acceptable.......just even more stupid IMHO.
