Yin, I'm sure Prevost has built something that actually cost more.

Despite that, money clearly doesn't buy taste.

I just don't understand why it would cost so much. I'd like to see more pictures. Seems someone could jump into this industry and make good money.

I would think the margins are very high at this price.

It's funny how all RV/motorcoaches have stupid patterns/colors/decorations on the side to hide that they are refridgerators on wheels.

I bet Dan is going to say he's buying it. He'll back out though at the last minute saying his parents will kick him out of the house if he buys it.

I've seen a doc on these homes and I think most of them buy the stock vehicle from Prevost and then do it up. They said the empty bus from Prevost alone is $350,000 USD.

    That said, that looks tacky.

Indeed. A friend of mine has a Prevost that cost slightly less than $3.5 MM.

Will Smith has the most expensive motor coach ever built. It cost $5M or $5.5M, something like that. It uses a Peterbuilt or Kenworth truck to pull the trailer which has slide-outs on both side along the entire length and the whole thing raises up to become a 2-story home once parked. I saw it on MTV or some channel like that a few years ago.

I have a 2000 MCI coach with the same type of conversion as the above mentioned Prevost. The original list on mine was something like $1.35MM. I paid just under $500k in 2004. It is just like having a large boat. All of the same systems you would find in a 65 foor yacht are there and the yacht costs much more. My wife lives in it 3 months a year while traveling on the equestrian jumping circuit. It has proven to be a fun and useful asset. Even if I take a $150k hit when I upgrade to a 2002 model next year I still consider it a great investment.
