Cavallino magazine, issue #154 of August 2006, will feature another incredible barn find, a long lost even-numbered competition Ferrari that nobody has seen since 1959. Incredibly original and authentic, totally unrestored with a lovely patina, complete and matching numbers. Here's a little teaser. More soon.

Wow, this section seems to be the most exciting on the entire board. Got any pics of the same model but different car?

Yes, I am the finder. I have since sold it to a collector who will very carefully preserve it. It will be shown for the first time at the Cavallino in Palm Beach 2007.

    Thanks for sharing!!

These kind of discoveries make the vintage section very exciting. Every magazine should cover this. Will you let other more mainstream magazines pick up the story?

I can comment little at this point being a little to close to both sides of the deal. I will say, that I am very pleased this car finally found a home that will care about it and preserve it for all to enjoy once again.

The real mystery to me has yet to be fully investigated. The engine is one of the most special ever fitted to a road Ferrari from any period and I am curious if the true nature and original purpose will ever be discovered.

Marcel has already done so much, I hope he can dig a little further and shed some light later on the rarity of the drive train in this very special Racer.

    Cheers,

    Bill

We have waited for years for this one to come out and play, but it was hardly ever "lost".

Oh man THIS is exciting! Marcel, what kind of numbers is this car worth now and after the resto? May I ask what country it was found and is it staying there?

Once again: This car is so sensationally original and authentic that it will NOT be restored. It will be very carefully preserved the way it is today. More soon.

While the car's location might have been known to some, I'm fairly certain that it's unique features and competition history were not.

First - congratulations are in order.

Second - will it kiss the road and the road return the kiss?

Third - does "soon" = after the article runs?
