F430 Spider Sales?

I would love to know this too, as i went to the dealship and noticed that it is the same price range, with a 100k+ premium, has anyone done this

 

If you want an F430 coupe or spider right now, you should expect to pay about $75-$100K above sticker for the coupe and $125-150K above sticker for the spider (these are prices for US cars, not Euro spec). And, yes, they are really selling at these prices. Most of the people selling them have driven them for 1,000-3,000 miles and are getting what the market supports. Fortunately for them, there is high demand and relatively low supply. I think it also speaks volumes about the desirability of the F430. Even though it doesn't currently hold the "collector cache" of an Enzo or F40, it is one of the best sports cars ever made (that's not just my opinion but many of the car rags feel that way too including Automobile Magazine).

and i didnt pre order it

and there are some F430 spiders here for sale around 45k above premium
european specs not american specs

 

While I didn't pay $100k over, I did pay a substantial premium on a new '05 F1 Spider that I bought from Shelton last October. I then drove the car for the next 7 months and 1,000 miles and got nearly all my money back when I traded it for a new '06 6 speed Spider which I've now driven for about 900 miles.

At first I had a hard time considering paying such a premium, but frankly I'm glad I did. I've loved every mile I've driven the car. The car has barely depreciated, in fact it's probably firmed since last fall/winter. Everytime I've bought another sportscar like a Porsche I've lost 20% as I drove it out the door. That's certainly not the case with the 430, yet. I could probably get all my money back if I sold it today. In that case, the premium is irrelevant.

My advice to anyone who wants a 430 but has hesitated, find the right one like I did (color combo/options) and buy it.

 

Noticed that Foreign Cars Italia (Greensboro) has a 430 Spider w/ 500 miles for $299K.

FoSV had a 430 Spider with 100 miles that they were asking a similar price for. I don't see it on their site now so it may have sold.

You'll find it hard to get people coming forward on how much over they paid. If you paid a $100K over for example you'll probably keep your mouth shut so that you don't look like you got ripped off. Now if someone got a smok'n deal and wants to brag about it that's a different story. Watch, now the $100Kers will chime in

60K over on the exact coupe I wanted (12 mos ago). Worth every penny! Could turn it for a profit, but wouldn't even consider it.

 

I am currently looking at two 430 coupes. Both 2006 cars, both red/tan , and both 6 speeds. One is a very fair deal at 40k over with 300 miles on it and the other is 70k over. The car for 70k over is new and my debate is that the cheaper car has no options in it at all, while the other car has all the nice options, power daytonas, shields, full leather, etc. Seems crazy to take the more expensive car and I most likely wont, but the daytona seats really make the interior.

 

Options make the car. Not to mention resale. Get the one you want, close your eyes & pull the trigger. You won't regret it!

My coupe is for sale at $50 over. I paid over for it. Most people think that the purchase price is the most important part in deciding whether or not to buy something. It is not. The price you pay less the price you can sell it for is the most important. Whether you pay list or pay over, its still going to cost you roughly $10 a year.

 

My favorite local sushi place is right acoss the street from my dealer. I stopped over to say hi after lunch. They just got a nice 06 430 gearshift car. Light silver. pretty car. I do not think they are asking 100k over sticker for it though.

 

Really have to remember that if the car is selling for 320 to 360 you either live in miami or L.A., or which is usually more the case, the car is fully optioned. A fully optioned car list price is very expensive. The ceramic brakes alone add around 17,000. With options, including some of the rarer options, you can move the list price of your car to somewhere around 280k. So in reality if a car is 320k and it is fully optioned you are not getting a bad deal per se. As long as you don't mind buying a car at market. But beware the cars that sell at that price and don't have any options, some dealers are trying to catch unknowledgeable buyers. Just make sure you do your research before you buy the car, and know all of the exact prices of the options, if anyone needs this I can give you what I have.
