I'm attempting to restore the painted arrow outlines on my power window switches (84 QV) since most of the paint has worn off. I thought they were white outlines, but upon looking closely, it appears to be a silver color. Is that right??

    thanks!

Yes, it has a bit of silver in it. The antenna switch is the same.

It seems to me that there's a paint, more like an ink actually, that you just rub onto the part. The ink goes into the groves of the lettering and then when you wipe off the excess the ink is left in the lettering groves.

I believe an art store would carry a variety of real paint "pens" colors. We used one for guests to sign our wedding photo, it would be real handy on the switches..

problem with rubbing paint or ink into grooves is that the grooves tend to wear down, almost smooth.

I bought replacement switches through T.Rutlands awhile back, and the new ones came with illuminated arrows, which was nice to have at night.

check the cross ref thread for 308's. i replaced the Dino 308gt4s switches and my GTBs switches. they were different car to car. the part numbers should be posted in the x ref thread. i did a thread with pics also showing the differences in the terminals. perhaps these threads will help you find what you need.

1982-1986 Alfa GTV6 switches match. The new repos on the market actually work.

don't want to hijack but this is about switches and sources so sorry...they are probably the same as on the 348 and they look to me very "stock parts bin" european...maybe shared with another manuf. anyway they are unrealiable on the "T" and would love a resonable replacement source.

I wish it were so easy.

The ferrari part has bigger arrows and the rocker has all sharp edges. The ones I pictured are repo's but they look the same, only they are in Beruit.......!!
