If I remember correctly, this car was in anotehr thread and someone did a carfax and found out that it was a rental in Vegas, be careful before buying that regardless of the services done, it was probably ridden hard and put away wet if you know what I mean.

Good call Black Gallardo. To me the 355 is the best looking Farrari for years. Looks MUCH better than the 360 and 430 and sounds much better than the 360.

I emailed Len about the valve guides too. His response to me was that it wasn't a required service and that I should listen to "real Ferrari owners and not Ferrari gossip spreaders".

    Anyone?

Technically, he's right. It's not a required service, and not all cars suffer from the malady.

Get the inspection and see what James has to say.

    Have you driven a 355?

My understanding is that if there were to be valve guide issues, they would have shown up by 34k miles. A quick compression test should suffice, leakdown probably not necessary if compression is OK.

I thought the big risk was the garage queen '95 with 5k miles...

Inevitably the valve guides wear down and eventually you have to replace them.

When do you think mine will have to be replaced?

Its expensive so its a main concern of mine!
