Did all the 348's come with factory alarms/ keyless entry? The car I'm looking at has NO remotes. Did they all come with them or was it an option, Do the 348's have the same problem as the newer cars with thr "red" remote. If this car is supposed to have remotes can I get a replacement and get it to work?

Neither were an option as far as I know. All 348 have no factory alarm or keyless remotes. You just put the key in the lock and turn it.

I'm trying to figure out if I can purchase replacements and actually get them to work or if it's like the 355 red fob/ black fob problem and without the pin # I'm screwed

    Hi,

All 348 came with this type of folding key from the factory,
any other keys or alarm fobs are aftermarket items fitted later.

    Regards,
    Phil.

Must be an aftermarket alarm / remote with the Ferrari horse to make it seem more like a factory option.

??? I do not believe any 348's came with factory remotes.

Mine has remote alarm/unlock/lock key fob, but it is aftermarket.

well i guess it's either pot luck or the ones I saw were aftermarket. Either way I guess it's nothing to worry about if the car doesn't have them.

Thanks to all for the responses!!!!!

Ungo. Aftermarket manufacturer for car alarms and remote lock and starter systems. Your remotes were made by a US company (Tecne of Palo Alto) that's been around for over twenty years. No 348 ever offered with remote lock/unlock OEM.

That explains a lot. Now I know why all the remotes were the same on all the cars. Are these systems still available? I'll google them

I believe the 95 355's did not have remotes either. Anyone know for sure?

Ungo Alarms- wasn't that Daryl Issa's company?

FWIW Ungo seems to be owned by Clarion now. Clarions systems say UNGO on the remotes..

No alarm and no remote in mine.

Recent local FCA member bought a 94 348 spider with keyless start...problem is, car won't shut off :O I say stay away from those!

ok this is the only thread i found that talks about the "red" remote for the 348. mine is red (of course) with one black button on it. i have pressed it around the car and nothing happens.
    1. what is the difference between the red and black remotes ( i dont have a black one)
    2. what do they do and why isnt mine doing it haha

The 348 did NOT come with a remote, an alarm or a radio.

They better be including a few more manuals with the car, as well as a storage pouch... or I'd ask for a discount.
