I don't think Ferrari has any trouble selling it's cars.

It is too bad that he does not understand value, you will not buy a perfect car for change on the dollar, especially a Ferrari.

I've followed this with great amusement, mainly because the car and most of the players are here in Dallas.

ECarlink guy, don't sweat it. There are local Ferrari fans and owners here that are adults and understand that USED cars need work. 10 year old USED Ferraris ALWAYS need work. The purpose of the PPI is to determine how much work the used car will need, and how soon.

The clutch is worn? Wow. The car has actually been driven. Who would've guessed? Next thing you know, we'll discover the drivers seat bolster has some wear.

I also have a request for the math people in the group. If the belt service was done in 2004, how come there's only 1 year and nine months left until the next service? I've used all my fingers and toes, but I can't come up with that equaling 5 years. Maybe it's a mileage thing? Maybe BG is extrapolating how much he's going to drive to equal 30k miles in the next 21 months?

If I were the dealer, I would've yelled at BG too. Long ago. I probably would've used some colorful language. It might have rhymed with "duck cough".

BG, grow up. You've succeeded in alienating 90% of the best resources you'll ever find when it comes to Ferraris. Take a step back, a deep breath, and use your head. You're buying a 10 year old USED car. Well, you WERE buying one. After the flaming you've done, I doubt it will be silver.

Not trying to pick a fight, but you clearly haven't been following along the entire time.

We're not even discussing the purchase of a 360....

If you read BG's ENTIRE post history, including the other 8 threads he's started, and still feel the same way fair enough....

But this thread started by BG bad mouthing a dealer, right or wrong. he made it public.... no one chased him down to be "mean" to him...

    Just my $0.02...

No singing cum-ba-ya (if that's how its spelled) here....

Calm down. I bought my Ferrari when I was 20. This 'kid' is trying to get into the game. You may think of it of wasting time but think of it as gaining a customer for 40 more years.

I remember who treated me with respect and who didn't. Those good people will get my business.

    Wetpet,

From what I can tell, this kid has been going around in circles and wasting a lot of people's time. He asked for advice from Fchat then he ignored the advice given to him. Once the dealers became frustrated with him and told him to go away, he came to Fchat to badmouth the dealers. To me this looks like a source of entertainment for the kid (especially once he offered to complete the PPI in thread in the thread he started to badmouth the dealer).

I somehow doubt that this is the way you handled yourself during your learning process and buying process.

    Regards,

    Art S.

In a way i think BG got lucky here losing this deal, if even he really could have done it.

He can't afford the full purchase price of the car and is financing half of it, wait till he tries to get insurance if an insurance company would insure him at his age on this car which is going to be difficult and expensive, it would probably be $5000+ a year at least, get a ticket or 2 it could double or get cancelled and he must maintain insurance if financing the car for the bank.

Then will come the maintenance costs and little issues that turn up adding another several thousand, so $10k a year in expenses plus the finance costs on this car with $30k down and a balance of $45k at least over 3-5 years woudl be another $10k in payments a year, so $20k a year in costs just to own this car. I guess if you lived at home and worked at a job that pulled $35k a year you could do it just never able to go out or take trips.

i agree with most of what you say. true, i didn't handle myself this way but i'm "mature". i did however make some of these emotional mistakes. i'm not saying he is a saint, just that i think people are going a little too far on him. i mean a mod calling him a dipsht and telling him to do a clutch on a 360 with his freinds, come on. i say talk him down from the bad trip. don't poke him and make scary faces.

my fault, 355. yeh, i read em all. i still come to the same conclusions. i think the original charge made in this thread has been pretty much resolved in the dealer's favor and blackgaylardo should be flamed for it. it's just getting a little out of hand. for what it's worth blacklardo, remember you are on an internet forum. this is not the real world. take your time, learn your lessons and find a nice 355. you will love every expensive minute of it. most ferrari owners and dealers are patient, cool people who love the cars and like to help people with them. but, if you step out of line on any internet forum, your gonna get a spankin.

I still say let each buyer make their own decision about which car to pursue. And I should add that each dealer can choose to end the conversation whenever they think the 'buyer' is wasting their time. I think the presentation of cars that Ecarlink does is very good, and I applaud the Ecarlink owner for coming here to defend their good name. I predict the silver car will get sold shortly to someone else, and that Blackgallardo will buy something other than a 355 when the dust clears. It sounds like the reality of 355 maintenance is too much at this point. Hopefully he is not turned off to Ferrari ownership (like Jay Leno) and he can enjoy whatever model suits his current budget if the 355 is too much of a stretch.

I laugh at this thread & at blackgallardo. Why don't you go to a Mercedes-Benz dealership, pick yourself a slushbox SLK350 and call it a day since you're a clueless & insensitive whiney girl.

You would probably trash the clutch in the Ferrari within a matter of minutes.

Please re-read the thread, yes Martin called him a dip****........like Martin I'm also a Ferrari specialist / dealer, when you see this sort of behaviour day after day you tend to loose any cuddly nicey nicey tendancies when you can spot trouble a mile off!, Martin's position as a Mod has nothing to do with this thread as it doesnt need moderation

No Mod told the fluffy sensitive non timewasting BG to change his own clutch......another sensible person did

That's an insult to SLK owners... I happen to own one of those "slushboxes SLK350's" per your description and I am NOT clueless NOR an insensitive whiney girl, quite the contrary. It's a rather nice car.

i disagree obviously. i think his role as a moderator here has everything to do with how he conducts himself on the forum. you sort of lose your credibility in my eyes telling someone to straighten up when in a previous thread you called a newbie a dipsht. again, obviously i know, and everyone reading the thread knows it wasn't a mod that gave him the ridiculous advice to learn how to change a clutch on a 355.
and the major is only a little harder, maybe someone on the forum would help him do it in his garage after work one night.
