gee, not to hijack this AWESOME thread, but in the great picture in Bernie's post 103 above, the two gentlemen to the left of Enzo are John Surtees and Franco Gozzi. Surtees of course was a Ferrari F1 driver in the early 60s and the only man to ever be a World Champion in automobile Grand Prix as well as motorcycle Grand Prix. Gozzi was the Ferrari Formula 1 team manager in the 60s and early 70s; he was Ferrari's right-hand man right up to Enzo's death in 88.

OK, enough of the Ferrari history lesson; back to the show.

Thats a bit harsh... he does push his lawnmoghini over acres of other peoples real estate every day. then goes home and tells his mommy he had a vewy vewy hawd day...

So blackgallardo what do you have to say about that pm? We have no problem with people trying to get Ferraris even at a young age. But when they start insulting respected members and libeling dealers and blaming the dealer and pretending they can afford the car and continuing to lie and insult and not own up, that's when we get angry and the Doc pulls out the cards, and you get owned

 

Actually, I found a whole bunch of really swell Enzo pics like that, which I'm going to tailor for F-Chat use.

 

I hope this does run BG away from Ferrari ownership. 22 yo who can barely afford a F-car without finance and is already worried about the cost of maintenance. If he had bought the car it would of ended in salvage yard or in wholesale (repo) auction with no maintenace. Thankfully the car was saved from a slow death.

Pre-emptively, I did pay cash for my 348 (check actually), cash for my previous 308. Hell I even payed cash for my Honda minivan.

What entertainment on a Wed. morning. Who was making popcorn?

I think you are onto something.

Assuming best case scenario: the kid figured out how to leverage himself to the hilt to be able to purchase a Ferrari; then he was slightly underwater with the insurance; then he realized that there were considerable maintenance costs involved in ownership! At that point, he went to the dealer upset that he was not previously informed that he would have to spend money maintaining the car. This caused the dealer to loose it (understandably). So he came here to badmouth the dealer because the dealer wasn't more understanding.

I think we just saved a nice Ferrari from the ravages of differed maintenance!
