Now you're just bragging Honestly, those Snap-on torque wrenches are awesome. I've used Verell's, but have a couple of cheap ones (Craftsman and HF) myself and there is NO comparison between the two. Most used tool: any of the gear wrenches. To respond to the original post- I got into car repair originally because of interest and cost. I learned on a 73 Super Beetle which my dad bought new. Talk about learning brake repair and valve adjustment! It really was a great car.
I was doing a timing belt on my mom's Accord and Honda torques the shiite out of their crankshaft bolts. I was using an 18" breaker bar and three feet of pipe and I didn't bring any 1/2" extensions so my mom brought me some that she bought for 99 cents for a pack of three. I snapped all three of them in short order. It's miserable doing anything mechanical for her with her tools because she buys the cheapo black and decker China made junk and multiple critical items like flashlights and sockets routinely fail during the job making it far more of a chore. Moral of the story is learn to spot quality tools and be willing to pay a little more for something that isn't going to strand you. It will be good for your blood pressure to not have to fight crappy tools to get the job done.
