Low quality? Oh goody. Here's one that I didn't want to soil the subscrbed forum with. What do you guys think about the idea of "Park It Sell It" used car lots? More profitable per sqft that regular tote-the-note car lots?
Not at all. It works most of the time like this: You find a vacant or unused lot that has a good amount of coverage from a good size intersection or road. You park your car there with a for sale sign and contact number. Someone likes the car that call you and you sell it. Generally you see a few people doing it in the same lot. In a perfect world the seller would cut the owner of the lot in for a piece but I doubt that happens very much. Most times the owner has all the cars towed. I have had to do this twice. Now then if I had gotten a piece... or hell even just been asked if it was ok, I might have let it go on. ( Of course Dave may be talking about a lot that works like a consignment shop where they try to sell the car for you and keep a commission on the sale price. )
Sweet idea. Im going to get a car transportation 18 wheeler and sell cars with a billboard on the side. "You want a car, we come to you!"....
you're right, that is what I'm talking about. Saw one today, have never seen one before. It looked just like any other used car lot, with a 500sqft portable office on it, but the sign said "Park It Sell It". I can only assume it works as Dr. S. describes.
There is one like that near where I had a place in Atlanta. Believe it or not they had a 348 gtb about a year ago. I stopped by and this is how they told me they worked: You give them your car along with proof it is yours and tell them what you want for it. Based on the book value and the car they will either take a %-age of the ask price or a smaller %- age plus 1/2 of anything over your ask that they can get for it. BTW they wanted $90k for the 348 and it had like 45k miles. I told them they were nutz but who knows...!
How about this..... I wanna make $2 Million bucks next year and have 10k to invest in making it happen. What can I do?
Park & Sells popped up here a while ago. It's billed as consignment sales, and prices are usually higher than even a dealer lot, and many thousands over private sale prices. It's just another way for the unwary to get screwed.
Rent out the space or take a percentage off the sale price. Great idea, just ensure you don't park "lot rot". No DMV fees, no hassle. Never present yourself as a salesman of motor vehicles or you can get into deep cow-pies. High volume Brothel doin' my best boss
I don't know what other state laws are, but I saw one pop up. Within a week a group of dealers filed formal complaints to the state. you need a dealers licence.
Just call customer service and talk to Renee, she'll hook you up. The sto' yo' 411 on yo' zirus 5500. BT
Thats what I hear and why we couldn't imagine losing someone with your experience level from the business section.
How do I start a local government? Is it a corporation, and how can you tell if the land is allowed to be made into your own town? There is a gold mine available in Florida if you start a town without all the B.S. I'm thinking of calling it Nohassle, FL. BT
I'm not lost, I joined. $15 is like .0000000000001% of my DAILY income. I'm so rich I am thinking of buying Ferrari, not the car the company. My night trading is really paying off.
There was actually a city for sale on Ebay about year ago, lol! What a piece of crap. I think 20-30 homes, some farm animals, a river, maybe 1 school, 60 residents? Not sure what you could do with it. If I was Bill Gates, I'd buy it and put up a few 100+ story skyscrapers to make the place look way out of place. Then don't let anyone inside the buildings, but make it look like a lot of important stuff goes on in there. Pay some people in suits walk in and out telling the residents "stocks, bonds!!!" "boardroom meetings!!!" That should rile them up.
