Assuming this is real it's pretty cool. Guten Tag Herr Glickenhaus, Congratulations you have created a very beutiful car. We at Audi AG are impressed. I's the exhaust white due to a ceramic or SWAIN coating or purely an aesthetic? Comment by Dr. Martin Winterkorn, posted on July30 at 12:44 am
^ Jim, thats great. I love the car, the finished product looks even better than the pics of the model you sent me. My friends can't believe that you go on ferrarichat and i've met you. You've done an amazing job with this car. Hope to see you soon Chris btw, who's up for now making a re-incarnation of a 250 GTO on an Enzo now?
A mid-engined 250 GTO?? Not likely. Do you remember my 599 GTO Mugello-design? http://www.autoblog.nl/images/wp/599%20GTO%20red%201280x1024.jpg http://www.autoblog.nl/images/wp/599%20GTO%20silver%201280x1024.jpg
Yes, i completely forgot about the mid engine bit. Yes, i remember the 599 GTO. That would be awesome.
Hi there! I am a non-Japanese who have been living in Japan for many years (25+). I have visited Mr. Kosaka's Abarth Gallery museum near Mt. Fuji (Lake Yamanaka) many times, and I think it is the most comfortable and natural display of special cars I have ever encountered. It feels like meditation and purifies my soul every time I visit. Every time I stand in front of the P5 or the Mythos, I feel the awe and inspiration tingling my sensations. The pictures I enclose of the P5 and the Mythos I took at the special Ferrari exhibition held at the Museum Contemporary (MO+) in 2002. The Mythos was also present, as were other great Ferraris, including some of the F1 chassis. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Congrats Jim, the final result is absolutely amazing. I'm stumped on how the window vent works. Looks like an elegant design, but I can't figure it out just by looking at the 2D pictures. Does it swing in or out? Is it really just for ventilation purposes or does it open wide enough to hand quarters to the dumbfounded toll booth lady? Image Unavailable, Please Login
Is the tub modified? If so, has there been any improvements regarding structural integrity, such as torsional & flexural rigidity? Does the roll bar contribute to these structural factors, or is it just for roll protection?
James, I'm going to tell you the same thing I once told Horacio Pagani. Thank you for building this car.
Hi The vent windows open inward enough to stick your hand out. The roll cage and front sub frame are stronger, have higher roll over and front crumple but part of front crumple is due to horizontal radiator. The roll cage probably stiffens a bit but the Enzo's chassis is excellent and strong as Steffan discovered...
Jim, Simply astounding. Solid design, no weirdness or fad driven swoopy silliness, executed in good taste. Beauty from EVERY angle. I think you have made a significant contribution to the automotive world that will NEVER be forgotten. Many congratulations to you. I don't think anyone could have done it better. Enzo would be proud. The only two things I would change, The upper exhaust outlets from round to a vertical oval and install the horizontal "slats/vents" in the sides of the rear fenders, aft of the rear wheels, as seen on the P3/4. Other than that. WOW!
Hi If you look at the Car and Driver article you'll see in one of the shots of the styling model we looked at that (P 4 slots) but in the end I liked it without them. Could think about ovals...
I saw those shots. The flanks are pretty short there so maybe they wouldn't have worked but love the styling cue anyway.
Hi Jim , Want to congratulate you the P 4/5 . Awesome car . Very intetresting machine . At the begining thought that it's too squere in the front , but now I think it is very modern design. I like rear a lot - reminds me a little bit Isdera Commendatore . But this car is made in a very "farword" thinking way ! That's what automotive world needs ! Nice to see proper legacy of 330 ! The balance between old and modern one is just perfect ! Interior is really good I think. Location of iPod - perfect. Also buttons between seats - like in a jet - very nice ! Anyway ,I couldn't write this before cause I was at the great trip across Europe. I will use this post also to promote my thread Reg Tad http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=115345
