Actively engaged? I thought all he had to do was give the thumbs up / thumbs down signal! This of course from a velvet chair while eating grapes...

Makes you yearn for the days of team orders when you had to turn your car over to the #1 driver, don't it? I can't remember how McLaren did it, but I know they asked DC to pit, then made him drive on thru because they weren't ready (or some such nonsense) which happened to let Mika go by.

I've always liked Rubens and have to go with the thought "do I take a job as Ferrari's #2 driver with a good chance of being #2 in the WDC, as well as being a part of the team's WMC, or do I take any other seat and get passed every race by the #2 Ferrari?"

Besides all this from comments on his website it appears the retirement talk is bogus media play.

Fisi has NEVER been asked to move over for FA while leading. RB has and Irv were. That's the real disgrace. Fisi is usually nowhere near Alonso while MS's teamate have been.

Fisichella is fortunate to still be in F1, let alone be compared to a driver like Alonso.

I hate to disagree with you again, but Fisichella was resigned by Renault because he contributed more to the set-up of the car than Alonso ever could. Actually its well known that Alonso contributed nothing, he showed up and drove a car that had input from Fisichella. Fisi is very important to that team, and that is why they quickly kept him. Certainly you realize he is better than at least 65% of the drivers on the grid.

And he has out qualified Alonso on occasion.

Rare occasion, and he's usually way behind during the race. It was the same with Trulli, except JT was usually way closer to Alonso than Fisi is.

Fisi was resigned because Renault needed continuity in the team following Alonso's departure. Had Alonso chosen to stay with Renault, it is a virtual certainty that Fisi was gone.

And the bottom 65% of the grid is not much better than the bottom 65% of the grid in most other major racing series. That isn't saying muuch.

Wrong! Just because you did not hear a broadcast on the team radio does not mean that there are no team orders... if you are naive enough to think otherwise... so be it!

Alonso and Renault have disgraced F1 by their unethical team orders in 2005 and 2006.

They have provided sub standard equipment to Fisichella and Alonso's pit strategy is always problematic for Fisichella.

You also got one more thing WRONG:

When Rubens and Irvine were told to move over... TEAM ORDERS were LEGAL!

    Bottom line:
Renault are giving team orders when it is illegal.
Ferrari gave team orders when they were legal.

Fisichella is much better racer than Alonso.

Alonso and Renault have deployed team orders when the FIA have clearly stated that they are illegal. Fisichella was consistently given sub standard equipment through out the 2005 season and in 2006 the pit stop strategy is always in favor of Alosno.

Alonso is a farce champion and Renault is a disgrace to F1.

Your response to this is so incredibly stupid, I won't even comment on them. You should learn to read and stay on the topic.

I didn't say anything about team orders in the first place that was started by someone else and the topic changed from there. You changed it further by saying your usual stupidity. No one said anything about team orders being legal or not only that MS benefits from them more than most other driver. Clear enough for you?

    Back to the topic!
Just wondering what Barichello will do when he retires from F1.
Will he just stop driving or will he join another series for 'pre-retirement'?
I can only see DTM or Sportscars for him.
Several F1 drivers have gone to DTM (Hakkinen, Frentzen, Alesi, etc..), while others have gone Sportscars (the late Alboretto, Johanson, McNish).
But Rubens may well decide to enjoy the rest of his days in sunny Brazil doing nothing!

Here we go again... back off topic... why can't you stick to the discussion at hand? Do you have an attention disorder? What is your major malfunction?

Anyway, in my opinion Barrichello should stay in F1 for a couple of more years and then then spend time in Brazil with his family. Maybe return to F1 as a manager in the future.

My malfunction is that you're a moron. Anyway enough stating the obvious, Rubens has said he's not retiring so the topic is pretty much dead.

You need to learn to stick to the topic and referain from personal attacks.

Rubens will continue to do well in F1. Best of luck to him and his team.
