Alonso should be given a race ban for nearly killing another racer!

    SAFETY FIRST!

I think that there is a point, where a display of clearly antagonistic behavior should not be tolerated, this isn't simply aggressive driving, this was the start of a fight. First of all, this was a practice session and from seeing the incident there was room for "The Astounding Alonso" :) to go around Doornbos on the left, if there was an urgent need. When Alonso did get past him, he cut him off and stomped on the brakes in the middle of a turn. If Doornbos rear-ended him good and hard, I suppose that would have been his fault and not Alonso's.

Secondly, in the other penalized incident, passing under a yellow is a safety concern for drivers and track safety personnel, whether in practice, qualifying or race conditions, there usually is a penalty of some sort associated with that infraction for anyone, not solely reserved for Alonso's championship run.

It looked as though Fernando woke up in a bad mood and was taking it out on everybody else.

Alonso isn't being picked on, F1 isn't supposed to be NASCRAP, at least not yet.

Another blantant d*ck move from Alonso before the 2006 season kicked off. MS bashing is undoubtedly in fashion; Even on this forum, of all places, a handful of users take pleasure in sh*tting on everything MS does (and they have every right to of course, if done respectfully and intelligently). Alonso's less than sportsmanlike incidents, on the other hand, seem to be forgotten quickly, despite the Spaniard's transgressions often being the result of hot-headed agression, which is completely unacceptable in F1.

Alonso is a sensational driver, no doubt. But let's not put our heads in the sand at his ignoble flashes of idiocy. We liked to crap on Montoya for pulling the same kind of stunts, so let us not be blinded by aqua tinted glasses (or whatever bizarre Renault color scheme that is).

Got to disagree on this one. That was deliberately dangerous driving and should not be tolerated. I think he gets off easy with only a 2 secs/lap penalty.

His youth obviously affected his judgement today...

Wow, I never saw that angle of footage. I only saw the last 2 seconds of the clip from above during the Speed TV broadcast. FA had to be holding him up for a good 8-10 seconds!!! What a cheap ass move by FA. Now that I see it wasn't just a brake check, more like BLOCkING at low speeds, I'm glad he got the 2 second penalty. I wont' be surprised if this marks the end of his championship run.

pretty hard for the conspiracy theorists to argue with that sort of questionable driving and rule breaking.

They say Hungary is very similar to Monaco. Narrow high down-force circuit, no good opportunities to pass, world champions doing stupid stuff....

I would say the penalty was harsh but fair. Montoya was sent to the back of the grid for brake testing Ralf and DC (I think) in 2005 at Monaco. Michael was penalized severely at Monaco 2006 for his antics there and now FA gets penalized for brake testing and acting petulant.

Yeah, I called it months ago, he's one of the most egotistical drivers I have ever seen, so this really doesn't surprise me at all. He's knows no humility so what do you expect?

I just want to see him call out Rossi again...

What was the deal with Barrichello pushing and shoving someone in the pit garages? The announces didnt say anything other than he was "negotiating his contract"...hmm..

He was horsing around with Nick Fry the CEO of Honda Racing. It was in good fun. Sometime back Nick Fry spotted Barrichello giving an interview and lobbed across a tomato that messed up Rubens shirt. I assume this was some sort of retaliation. :)

Saturday morning practice tells me it's going to be a long day tomorrow if your car isn't red....

Apparently Michael waited until the closing time to top Massa's 1:21.472 with a 1:20.795. Button blew an engine at turn 4 thus causing about a 10 minute delay.

    Top ten:

    MS
    FM
RK (great for his 1st GP and "home" crowd)
RB (consistent placing in practice this weekend)
FA (if 2 sec penalty assessed would have ended up 16)
    GF
CK (good show for someone "hanging" onto their seat)
    Pedro
    VL
    KR

Albers AGAIN faced with an engine penalty.

MS also got a 2 second penalty in the qualifing laps for passing 2 cars with red flag today, this just happened.
